Dr. Jonathan Hugh Bauman, MD

do not use this DR. he is an egoistical narcastic that thinks his patients are sub human. Do not talk about your patients when you think they are asleep and deminer them with the staff. He should be brought up to a review board and stripped of his position.

Saw him for about a year. He has no compassion for individual struggles. I experienced withdrawals from a medication he prescribed. I saw him today to ask for help for fear I was going to have a major setback. At first he wasn’t even looking at me, was typing on his computer. He was sarcastic about me asking question, having done research and trying to advocate for myself. He also kept sarcastically saying he was sorry he couldn’t live up to my expectations. When telling him the symptoms I experienced, he lumped me into a category with all of his other patients. He stated he had never had anyone with these issues, yet he was aware that there coukd be side effects of withdrawal and could not humble himself to admit that he should have at least warned me and referred to me to a pharmacist if he was uneducated on side effects. I got up and walked out of his office crying after he suggested that I take Benadryl to deal with my issues. Have someone go with you when you have concerns. He is… a maintenance doctor, not someone who will take the time to treat you as an individual, rather than a policy number. Advocate for yourself and remember you are the client.

I have found Dr. Bauman to be very insensitive to my personal needs as a patient. I was describing a recent event that I experienced as a result of a medication and when I offered details surrounding the situation, he told me that was not his problem. I suffered a reaction from a medication and after he adjusted the dosage over the phone, provided no instructions for me to follow-up outside of my allotted 4-6 week interval. Then he proceeded to tell me that if I needed to see him more than my regularly scheduled visits, that would be an issue. As I proceeded to plea my case, he told me that his time was limited and he was not going to sit there and argue with me. There have also been a few instances where I had to correct him on the dosage he was inputting into the computer for my medications. I no longer trust or feel comfortable with him as my prescribing doctor for my psychiatric medications. Very inappropriate reactions to my needs and concerns.

Should not be in the practice of psychiatry at all allowed a pleading teen whom told him he just wanted to die to go home and wait for a facility to have an opening the teen went home and three days later was dead death by suicide office covered up the teens last visit and attempt begging for long term care treatment when investigated by the nys mental health from Albany there was no mention of said last visit they tried to say he was dual dx noting about wanting to die due to him just turning 18 as a parent they refused to give his medical record of that last vs the findings from the state were based on the facility n dr statement not facts never trust such a place or dr whom does not take immediate action with such depressed patients as suicide is and continues to be 2nd leading cause of death in the USA among 14 to 19 yr olds

He presents his observations in an oddly condescending manner and is quick to make sweeping generalizations about one's psyche. An appointment with Dr. Bauman feels somewhat akin to being roasted on Comedy Central.

Jonathan Bauman MD is an excellent diagonistician who had incredible insight and empathy. He is well spoken and articulate. He is certainly one of the best pychiatrist and pshcopharcologist in the New York area.
