Dr. Jonathan Wingate Becker, MD

As a chronic asthma and allergy suffer, Dr Becker is on of the most knowledgeable and compassionate doctors I have ever been to. Under his care, my asthma has been much more in control and slowly, over time, I have decreased my meds.

Dr. Becker is quite frequentley running behind, but I know that it is because he takes time with each patient to understand their concerns and answer every question. When it is my turn he will take time to answer every question that I have. I do not feel rushed out the door. I do not mind waiting because I know that I will get all the time I need. Dr. Becker cares about his patients and puts their care/health first.

My son has poor health and we've struggled for over 2 years to get his asthma under control. We visited another large allergy/asthma clinic in Seattle numerous times in that 2 years and were not able to keep my son off of systemic steroids. We were referred to Dr Becker by a friend. Within 2 weeks of our first visit we have my son's asthma under control and have him off of 3 medications he was needlessly prescribed by other physicians. You will likely end up waiting longer for Dr Becker at your scheduled appointment than you have for any other doctor, but I assure you it is much better to wait those minutes (maybe an hour plus), than it is months and years for effective health care.

My autistic daughter has been suffering from asthma and allergies since she was a baby. She is now almost eight years old, and one visit with Dr Becker taught me more than I had learned from any other doctor previously. It is so difficult to find a physician who will spend an appropriate amount of time with you. He truly is there to help his patients get better. And he will have loyal patients for the rest of his life because of it. Within ten minutes I realized I wanted him to be my daughter's doctor. He is a rare find. And enlightened me on my daughter's condition beyond my expectations. I'm so thankful we accidentally got an appointment with him.

Dr. Becker is a sympathetic, compassionate doctor who takes the time to answer questions and make certain you understand. He's never made me feel like I'm "wasting his time" with my "silly concerns", as some other doctors have. It's sometimes difficult to get an appointment with him; there is often a bit of a wait because he's a popular doctor. It's worth waiting awhile.
