Dr. Jonathan Bernard Buten

After doing a lot of research on gynecologists in the Austin area and talking to several nurses I made an appointment with Dr. Buten and I have no doubt I made the right decision. He is extremely knowledgeable and very experienced. His bedside manner is one of the best I have ever experienced with a doctor. He listens carefully and answers all your questions and concerns, and he is funny and easy to talk to at the same time. He is to-the-point, but never seems rushed. After we discussed a variety of options to deal with my problems I chose to have the da Vinci hysterectomy. Since he is actually an instructor on the technology and teaches other doctors how to use the da Vinci robot, I felt completely confident in him doing the surgery. Honestly, I was more nervous about the anesthesia than the hysterectomy! The surgery and recovery went better than I expected and I am so happy I had it done. It has been 6 weeks since the surgery and I am pain free and feel so much better than I have in… years! My tiny little scars are barely noticeable and I canâ??t thank Dr. Buten enough for helping me. His staff is very friendly and getting an appointment was so easy. His office is super clean, and never full of waiting patients. I usually am seen within 5 minutes and never had to wait more than 15 minutes. I highly recommend Dr. Buten.

My primary doc, Wendy Merola, referred me to Dr Buten. 10 years post-hysterectomy and things starting drooping, internally, not surprising. Dr Buten expalined the DaVinci Robotic surgery thoroughly to me and what to expect post-op and I have just had my 6-week post-op visit and he and I are both pleased with the results! Thank you!

Dr. Buten has been been my OB/Gyn for almost 30 years, and that alone is a testament to the quality of care I have received from him. This relationship has lasted longer than both my marriages and for good reason- he truly cares about his patients.Though he has officially hung his "catchers mitt" and no long practices obstetrics, he continues to challenge himself to remain on the forefront of new techniques in minimally invasive procedures, which I haven't needed yet, thankfully. He has always taken the time to listen to my concerns and has even helped me with conditions outside the realm of gynecology. His staff is also very helpful and accommodating.

Dr Buten was referred to me by my primary physician. I was very satisfied with the care I received from Dr Buten and his excellent staff. I was anxious to get an appointment as soon as possible, and was very grateful that his office manager called me back when she had a cancellation, so that I could get in to see the doctor sooner than originally scheduled. At our initial meeting he was very calm and took the time to explain the possibilities based on my symptoms. He was very patient about answering all my questions both prior to surgery and at the follow-up appointment after surgery. I plan on continuing to see Dr Buten for my future medical needs and would definitely recommend him to others.

I have never taken the time to write a web review about a doctor- but I actually went out of my way to FIND a place to sing my praises about Dr. Buten and his team.I had a partial hysterectomy 14 months ago, and was blown away by Dr. Buten and the entire office staff. Now, having needed to go back to remove my ovaries/tubes, I can tell you what experienced prior is not a fluke. They work hard to get you seen the same day if you need to, the billing staff are incredibly efficient and helpful and Stephanie the nurse is so kind. She makes sure to ask questions, gives you info, and really works with the doctor.What can I say about Dr. Buten? He has always explained in detail what the issue was, and makes a point to explain all your options, with their pros/cons. He is compassionate, and genuinely cares. When I had to return with lingering pain a year later, I was frustrated and so disappointed. If it weren't for him, I'm not sure I would have trusted another surgeon. When the surgery… turned out to be more complex than originally planned, he took extra time to talk to my mom in the recovery area- I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that. And even in the hospital, his standard of care for his patients is high and the hospital staff he works with are phenomenal (also not a fluke, since I've had 2 stays there).I am grateful to my PCP for recommending him to me, and I do the same to ANYONE who asks. :-)

I have been a patient of Dr. Buten for 12 years. He delievered my second child and has always been professional in assessing all my needs. I would highly recommend him and his staff.

My recent experience with Dr. Buten was so good, I feel that every woman in the area should know about him. I recently found out that I needed to have a hysterectomy, and my anxiety started to skyrocket from that moment forth. Fortunately, a friend of a friend recommended Dr. Buten, and he really put my mind at ease. He took his time and explained my options and what I should expect from the procedure, which really made a difference in how I felt about having the surgery. Not only does he employ the latest techniques in the field, but he really has a wonderful down to earth manner. The office staff is very friendly and efficient, and appointments run on time, which I totally appreciate.I am also very impressed with the Cedar Park Medical Center that he is affiliated with.My surgery went very well, and I will remain a patient of Dr. Buten's!

After seeing a couple of GYN's who accepted my insurance, my primary physician got me in to see Dr. Buten. He and his staff are caring and compassionate. They have a sense of humor when needed too! I appreciated the relaxed environment which eased my mind greatly. They really enjoy their work. I was informed of all steps in the procedure I wanted and will have little to no scarring. I had relatively little pain and after a week found I could move around without significant discomfort. I'll recommend Dr Buten and his staff to anyone I know who is in need of diagnostic/surgery/female health welfare! A huge thank you to you and your wonderful staff!

After being a long time patient(14Years) I have had many great experiences with Dr. Buten and his staff. He has performed numerous laparascopic surgeries on me, was my obstetrician with my youngest son, and most recently performed a minimally invasive daVinci robot assisted hysterectomy, mesh sling implant and some tissue repair. The overall experience was great as all my surgery experiences with him have been. I am about 6 weeks post op now and couldn't be more happy with the results. He is very knowledgeable in his field and completely involves you in whatever decisions you make for you gynecological health. His office staff are very efficient and friendly. I have referred him to several friends of mine and will continue to do so. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a highly skilled and knowledgeable gynecological surgeon.
