Dr. Cohen is a kind, experienced, and competent surgeon. My experience was as good as surgery can be. Following referral, intake through surgery took less than one week. Dr. Cohen is smart, kind, funny, and conducted my intake process, surgery and follow-up flawlessly. I had surgery with him recently, and he made sure I was comfortable during the procedure, as well as also conducted my lipoma removal (in the muscle) successfully. He worked his magic to prevent a scar, too, as it was on my neck. I would highly recommend using Dr. Cohen!

I saw many surgeons and none would take my case. My oncologist sent me to Dr Cohen and he boldly took my case. I had a huge hernia and my abdominal wall had collapsed due to multiple cancer surgeries. I can truly say that Dr Cohen changed my life. The surgery I had was very complex and I had several days in the hospital to recover. On one of my bad days my husband called Dr Cohen. He was standing in my room reassuring us within 20 mins of the call. He provided wonderful after care. It has been 2 years since the surgery and I can say I will never be able to thank him enough for everything he has done for me.

I had hernia repair surgery performed on May 9, 2019 (my left side) with Dr. Cohen at St. Thomas West hospital. I was very pleased with the lead-up as well as my day of surgery very much. Dr. Cohen and the whole team did everything to make my surgery a success. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohen and as a matter of fact, this was my second hernia repair (the first was about fifteen years ago on my right side) that he performed on me. Was referred to Dr Cohen by my gastrointestinal Dr for a surgery repair. Dr Cohen is right to the point. Draws out the problem and how it will be resolved. Surgery went wonderful no more pain. I understood surgery and what to do after surgery. My case took longer and more than what they expected. Dr Cohen was great after my follow up following surgery. Office staff are great to work with. I highly recommended Dr Jonathan Cohen.

My review was going to be so long, I decided not to write it all out here. But, we will be making a complaint with St Thomas Midtown about Dr. Cohen, and how he treated me. To keep it short, he was arrogant, and talked to me so badly that I was in tears. He was very unprofessional. He may be a great surgeon, but his attitude upset me and my husband so badly.

If you're looking for a surgeon who is crude, anything but a gentleman, doesn't care about the emotions of the patient, and verbally abusive any time he gets a chance - to the patient or the family members - then Dr. Cohen is the surgeon for you. The surgery he performed on my mother lasted less than a month and we were made to feel less than dirt by him.

Dr. Cohen was calm under pressure. My mom's colon ruptured and she became septic. Very quickly she slipped into a 10 day coma. Throughout months long experience, Dr. Cohen was easy to speak with, he was patient with all of our question. Never did Dr. Cohen present his ego or ever became "short" with us as many surgeon's have been known to do. I really feel lucky and blessed Dr Cohen was "on-call" that night at the ER. One night in the ER and a year long relationship. My mom just had her "reversal" and is healing nicely. Thank you Dr. Cohen.
