Dr. Jonathan Baldridge Covey, MD

I had finally marshalled the courage to go see a mental health professional, Dr. Covey, today. I had not finished all of the paper work/questionnaire, (approx 20 pages worth) upon my arrival, though the pertinent payment/insurance paperwork was indeed completed. I was feeling embarrassed and scattered, and just unsure about the entire arrangement of seeing a mental health professional for the first time. When I arrived at the office I found the receptionist visibly frustrated upon learning that I had a few pages left to finish. I assured her I would finish it right away, or could do so after my meeting with Dr. Covey. I was surprised to see her let out a pair of audible, annoyed sighs during my brief interaction with her. While walking by shortly after I started completing the extensive questionnaire, she made a slanted comment to the effect of "Hurry up bud, we need to get you through". I had been in the office for a total of 5 min. Now I fully appreciate the inconvenience I appear to… have caused, but the Wal-Mart level professionalism and indifference I felt from Dr. Covey's staff is not the way I would ever, EVER wish being treated from a group of people I'm ostensibly about to pay to help me with something as important as a person's compromised mental health. By obvious extension, I have a significant, broad doubt about Dr. Covey's judgment if this is the person he chose to handle incoming clientele.

Covey, of Colorado Springs, has been put on indefinite probation by the Medical Board for confusing the dosages of two mood stabilizers prescribed to a patient, and for his insensitivity and poor communication with another patient. In addition to probation, the Board sent Covey a letter of admonition and required him to complete an ethics program and communications course.

This guy is out of his mind. The rudest doctor I have ever met in my life. He definitely doesn't give a crap about his patients, helping them recover, or treatments that make any logical sense. My new psych doctor has received 4 of coveys patients in one month, all with related or exact situations.Stay away from this guy

Horrible doctor and even worse human being. He WILL scream, yell, roll his eyes, outright lie as he calls you and your wife a liars to your face. Clearly he doesn't give a crap about his patients. He exhibits bizarre behavior, contradict himself and then become furious when you ask questions. His license is under review right now and his reputation among several other Pysch doctors is ridiculously bad. My new doctor knew all about him and his practice as he now serves several of his patients. You can easily file a complaint with Colorado State medical board and let them know that this is going on. It's the only way to stop this guy and save others like us. Do NOT risk it, find a new doctor. His positive reviews contain no information/facts like the negative reviews...I suspect they are fake to boost his terrible score

Terrible experience. Did not listen to anything I had to say, contradicted himself multiple times, and told me that I couldn’t have had any issues from withdrawal from Prozac because Prozac withdrawal doesn’t exist. Rude, condescending, and incompetent. Also, his license is under probation. Easy to get an appointment with, I assume because he doesn’t have many repeat patients.

Dr. Covey is a rude, arrogant physician who should think about retiring. While I was referred to him for medical management , gave the OK that I would pay a 250$ fee and then asked and hounded about filling out 17?pages of paperwork and ten it back in a week b fore your visit- which I did. ...Only to drive 30 minutes on the day of the visit and have Dr. Covey say in such a rude condescending manner ‘I’m not prescribing any of those meds you’re on’ as if I didn’t give you a week to review the paperwork - 17 pages I might add again- and drive 30 minutes to have you not only be rude to someone dying of a chronic illness, but completely wasted my time when I am undergoing chemotherapeutic and weak. Not a good person nor doctor. I currently see 5 physicians in the city and was told by my Ocologist he is known as someone to never try and use for medical Care. Hopefully you’re taking this advice seriously. You’ve been forewarned.

Most accomplished happiest two years of my life. I never imagined i could live life the way i feel after two years of being a patient.
