Dr. Jonathan Wesley Crews, DO

Went in after my retina specialist said that I had a cataract on my eye that needed to be removed. I was told my copay was $20 and I would not have to pay anything else that insurance would cover for a consult. As soon as I walked into the door they demanded my credit card and charged my copay without allowing me to read the financial forms prior to the charge. Once I read the forms it indicated that they could at their whim charge my credit card for any charge. When I saw the doctor for the cataract that was referred to the office to get removed. I was told he wanted me to see their retina specialist for the same test my other retina specialist ( a world renown doctor at a top university) so that he could see if I could be approved for the surgery. When I objected he pushed my like a used car salesmen to allow the their retina specialist. I continued to refuse. He was agitated the moment I did not buy his line of bull. When I set up the appointment I told them they needed to order… the records and I emailed my retina specialist with the consent. They never followed through. So the whole appointment was a waste of time and money. They herd them in their like Cattle. They will literally say anything to get you to agree. I asked for a copy of what I signed Conveniently they left out the financial form. Luckily I took a picture of where I said I did not authorize them to charge my credit card any additional costs. I then learned even though I had no consult because they hadn't received my records they were still going to charge me for a consult. I am also filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and on their medical license for their shady practices. I also declined to have my records from Pepose put online and they did that anyway too. I would not take my cocker spaniel in the place. I never did get a cost estimate for the procedure from them which was one of my objectives in setting the appointment so I could plan financially. All the doctor kept saying was money is not the point here it is the best medical care. I have to pay the bill so yes money is a factor. I ended up calling BJC Washington University for a cost estimate.. They took my insurance information and gave me an estimate for a cataract removal where there was a prior retina detachment and gave me a quote. Before I even went in the office Which is required under the law the president Trump signed. Pepose is running a scam in my opinion. Run as fast as you can. Worst Doctors office I have ever been to. RUN save yourself the money and hassle.

I came to Pepose Vision in need of help after a cataract surgery by a different doctor at a different medical office had complications. The method of treatment by the initial doctor left me having many questions and I lost confidence in that doctor. I called the Pepose Institute and an appointment with Dr. Crews was made for the next day. Dr. Crews evaluated my situation and preformed the procedure two days later. Dr. Crews is very patient and explains the situation in a thorough way. I have confidence in Dr. Crews in treating my eye issues.

My DMEK corneal transplant is in good hands with Dr. Crews.

Dr. Crews was very professional and approachable. He was very thorough and explained everything to me. Very pleased with my visit.

I have had cataract surgery and retinal surgery at Pepose. I suspected an emerging problem and wanted a quick check. Dr Crews saw me quickly and checked my eyes, no problem. Pepose is a great place.
