Dr. Jonathan Craig Gilbart

Dr. Jonathan C. Gilbart is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but has lived most of his life in Virginia and Maryland.  After graduating from West Springfield High School, he went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.  After receiving his undergraduate degree, he continued his education by obtaining a certificate in Medical Technology from Fairfax Hospital, where he worked as an ASCP-certified Medical Technologist before continuing on with dental school.  More importantly, this is where he met his wife-to-be, Lucy Song.
Dr. Lucy Song Gilbart was born in China, and moved to Frederick, MD at the age of 14.  She graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School, and then went on to study Biochemistry at Hood College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree.  She also received a certificate in Medical Technology from Fairfax Hospital and went on to work in the laboratory at …Frederick Memorial Hospital before pursuing her dental degree.
Both Jonathan and Lucy Gilbart attended dental school at Howard University College of Dentistry.  Jonathan graduated fourth in his class and they both received numerous awards and distinctions during their dental school careers.  After participating in an oral & maxillofacial surgery externship in Portland, Oregon, Jonathan considered pursuing a career in that field.  He was later accepted into an oral surgery residency program.  However, he decided that a career in General Dentistry would be more rewarding and consistent with his talents and aspirations.
