Dr. Jonathan Craig Gordon, MD

I saw him twice for a torn meniscus. He told me to do 6 weeks of PT and that they would submit a pre-authorization for an amniotic fluid injection. It's now 2 months later. I've been doing my PT and have called Dr. Gordon's office multiple times asking for an update on the approval for the injection with no call back. I called my insurance company who told me that the request was NEVER submitted. I've been in pain for the last 2 months with no follow up or response from this office. I have an appt elsewhere to get the treatment I need.

I went to this doctor assuming he was going to be great however he was great at not doing his job! Seen me for 2 seconds and that’s all! Had his PA do all the work and u could tell she was overworked! Then got his manager that felt like she was helping me with my pain and discomfort with her fake laugh and her “dear” or “love” and all these unprofessional names that made me feel uncomfortable! Never addressed by my own name!!!!!! She seemed like she her self was lost and was just trying to pick up the slack of her staff! In my opinion they need to speak with the doctor and tell him he should pay more attention to his patients or just quit! They should Retrain his staff especially when addressing patients! We all Don’t’ want to be patronize by large woman dressed inappropriately small clothes that made me feel uncomfortable while not knowing what to do with there job! The staff looks so over worked and you can tell they themselves hate being there! DON’T WAIST YOUR TIME! LOOK FOR A REAL… DOCTOR AND GOOD WELL TRAINED STAFF!!!

Waited over an hour in a packed (25+ patients) waiting room to find out from an assistant (after being brought into an exam room) their diagnostic equipment was out of order that day & , if I wanted to see the Doctor, there would be an "an additional significant wait as he's a very busy doctor". I used the next 5 minutes of that wait to read over reviews (should have done earlier) to see that most people experience significant waits followed by a 30 second visit from a rude Doctor. I cut my losses and walked out. Based on the staffs reaction, it happens often

Dr. Gordon is the best. He was extremely helpful, patient, kind, understanding, knowledgeable. I can't think of a better doctor. Every doctor should follow in his footsteps. Aviva Fish-Patient

I had pain in my leg; he asked me to push my hands again his and then immediately diagnosed me as having sciatica. I went to another doctor because I had had sciatica before and knew what that felt like and this pain was not it. The doctor I went to took an x ray and I was diagnosed with having stenosis, which a follow up MRI confirmed. From beginning to end of appointment with Dr. Gordon, it was hurried; he was reluctant to give any info; very poor communication skills, did not listen, was like being treated by a robot. I would not recommend him. Pass him by. There are much finer doctors in New York.

returned from my follow up, after finding out of a tear in my meniscus. regardless, the first appointment seemed a bit rushed. arrive, go get xrays, see him for two minutes and leave.. The nurse gave me a brace and they made the MRI appointment. Follow up appointment was 3 weeks later (holiday season so I am not surprised). expecting another speedy appointment, I was taken back as his demeanor was a bit more friendly. we went over the MRI in detail, a few humorous jokes, and he answered all of my questions. As I need my knees for work, I wanted to wait until spring to complete my surgery. We spoke about options and he eased concerns. I read that his staff was not the friendliest on other reviews, but honestly, they were extremely personable.

During the past six months I had the bad luck to significantly injure both knees ---- each in a separate accident.These injuries were very painful, the second (left knee), even more so. I couldn't walk at all and was homebound for ten days prior to the operation. Both surgeries.went off without a hitch, and within six weeks I was fully recovered. I have no doubt that Dr. Gordon's expertise made this possible. I believe he is a "special" specialist.

I have read several bad reviews here, and I have to be honest, I understand that Dr Gordon is not overly friendly on the first appointment, and doesnâ??t spend a lot of time with you, BUT having said that, I am not afraid to ask a lot of questions and always do, determined to be chatty with these Drs here in NY ! (Iâ??m from Australia where generally everyone in the healthcare industry seems to be more friendly than here!!!) Dr Gordon certainly answered all of my questions clearly and discussed my options. So I think we warmed up to each other! I had a recommendation from an excellent PT that Dr Gordon was a great surgeon, and that was important to me. In fact he was very kind on the morning of surgery, as I was clearly a bit anxious. My knee is pain free and stronger than ever, and I am very happy with the results. So altogether, maybe he is short on time but he is efficient, and a great surgeon, and I have to say I like him a lot, and would definitely recommend him to friends. I… agree the front staff are unwelcoming and unfriendly, which is a shame because thatâ??s definitely your first impression of a doctor's practice. Understanding the minefield that is health insurance in this country is not easy (for me and others it seems!) and friendly helpful staff that are your first interaction, makes all the difference. But I have to just say here that Kailey, who works to schedule surgery, ensures procedures are authorized etc, couldnâ??t be more friendly and helpful, answering my ton of questions, and that was so refreshing, and certainly made the whole process easier for me. If all the office staff were more like her, there would be queues out the door to see Dr Gordon!

My experience with Dr. Gordon and his staff was perfect. It started with a short wait and then a spot on diagnosis within 5 seconds. Dr. Gordon preformed surgery on my thumb and within hours after I could bend it! The whole process was seamless and easy. Dr. Gordon and his staff are marvelous; I couldn't thank them enough!!!
