I do know that being told to use a Nettie-pot when you are miserable with either allergies or a viral infection can be frustrating. It is even more frustrating when you went in expecting to get antibiotics. What most patients do not understand is that antibiotics can cause harm. We also overuse them and with that overuse comes resistance. I am pretty sure your were also offered other instructions such as Nasal Steroids, NSAID's and Anti-histamines. I do not know the specific case (and cannot comment due to pt privacy laws) but I know he also tells his patients that if they are not feeling better by a certain number of days to call back and he will prescribe antibiotics. You have to understand medicine to critic effectively and If you would listen he does spend a lot of time explaining why he is giving a treatment as well as explain why he is not doing other. You just need to ask questions.

The worst

He was wonderful. He listened. He helped me in a way no other doctor could. He figured out my diagnosis quickly and cared about how much money I had to spend.

Every time dr. Hously has said he would call me with results from test he has and it has always been him personally... He travels to other hospitals so it is sometimes hard to get an appointment. He also rotates ER shifts at the hospital so sometimes wait time is a little long. But it is worth it for a good doctor

I'd recommend him to anyone. He's a great doctor

Everything was great getting the appointment. Front Desk personnel were very polite and friendly. Left very frustrated that the doctor sent me home telling to me to use a net-ti pot. I have been using a net-ti pot for two weeks with no improvement of symptoms and now an ear infection. I only go to the doctor as a last resort, and to leave with nothing more than what I have been doing with much suffering. I do not recommend this doctor.
