Dr. Jonathan Jason Howard, MD

Saw this guy for our toddler while his wife was out of the office for a few months. He is nice enough and all, but just seemed really uncomfortable. He diagnosed our child with an eating disorder and we had to start coming in MWF for weight checks while feeding our child Pediasure daily. (Our child is in the lower percentiles for weight, but eats very well and is super active.) After about 2 weeks of the weigh ins, our child gained 7 oz and he wanted to start testing for absorption issues, GERD, etc. I said no and asked to be referred to a pediatrician in La Crosse. When we saw the pediatrician (a few different times due to nature of the 'problems'), absolutely nothing was with him. I feel like we were charged a lot of money because of incompetence. Apparently his specialty is diabetes and old people -- if that is true, then he should stick to that and leave the younger patients for other doctors. We could have come back to have our child treated by his wife now that she is back… from her medical leave, but the whole experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will have nothing more to do with the Tomah clinic.
