Dr. Jonathan Eric Isaacs, MD

I drove from Hampton to Richmond for nothing. I was referred to Dr. Isaacs by my orthopedic surgeon to determine whether my bone tumor was an enchondroma or chondrosarcoma:. Prior to him entering the room, his nurse told me that they didn't receive the image of the x-ray,, but they only were able to view the written x-ray summary/notes. She asked me if I had a disk of the x-ray, and I told her no. Dr. Isaacs rushed in about 5 minutes later and said that based on what he can see from the x-ray, he doesn't think it's a bone tumor, before even examining my hand. Then, when I told him that I had surgery on that finger for an enchondroma in 2015, he then walks over and examines it and says, "Okay, so, it's probably a reoccurring enchondroma then, but let me take another set of x-rays to see." This tells me that he did not even review my file thoroughly, if at all. He rushed through my appointment and really gave me no new information other than what we already knew, and then, when I… told him that I was experiencing pain in that finger, he attributed it to my anxiety. I took off a full day of work, wasted gas and time for absolutely nothing.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Isaacs! I recently injured my radial nerve in my right arm and dr. Isaacs was amazing in first explaining what my options were and then doing the tendon transfer surgery on me. He put me completely at ease and made me feel good about my surgical outcomes.

Dr Jonathan Isaacs treated my husband for a terrible infection that had penetrated the bone. DH had been treated unsuccessfully at a facility in Newport News for six months before we came here. It was so serious we thought we were going to lose the patriarch of our large family. Doctor Isaacs not only cured DH but he did so with warmth and compassion for patient and family. Words cannot express how grateful our family will always be. We will always remember him.

He's such a wonderful physician that he should have a TV show for the world to see how one man treats everyone he sees like family- a real Marcus Welby MD. He's smart, severely intelligent, relates well to people and knows his specialty. Quite handsome too.

Dr Isaacs operated on both wrist and again later from a fall where I had to endure a cast and a pin in my wrist. Recovery was lengthy but succesful. Still have pain from time to time but he did a great job.

Very disappointing experience. Follow up after surgery was beyond negligible. When the procedure was not a success, he passed us off to a colleague and we b=never spoke with him again.

Dr Isaacs has treated two of my adult children after the injured both hands and wrists in a motorcycle accident. He, and his staff, have always been courteous and attentive to all our needs. Dr Isaacs has spent time explaining the extent of the injuries and all of the options for treatment. We have never felt like we were just a number in his office. Both Dr Isaacs and his staff have answered our questions and helped us deal with all of the paperwork and forms involved in the care of both patients. He has provided excellent referrals for physical and occupational therapy as well. I truly feel that my family was given a gift when Dr Isaacs was assigned their cases after their accident.

Dr Issacs looked at my elbow which is a bit out of his expertise and was very thorough in his examination. I enjoyed his office manner and his taking time with me. He is not surgery happy, which I also appreciated.
