Dr. Jonathan David Jahnke, MD

Dr Jahnke's office engages in 'bait and switch' billings. They will tell you the price for something and once you've paid, they will add on additional amounts. When I called them out on that, they denied any responsibility and said it was because the insurance didn't pay this item-this was despite the fact that initially they told me insurance didn't cover this service and I paid in full for the services. I would avoid using this office.

I booked a visit for an eye exam and contact lense fitting. Normally, the doctor is able to send me away with a trial pair of contacts and I am able to order contacts through them either at that time or later over the phone. Instead, I’ve had to come in 3 times total, missing work for each visit. Once for the first visit, which was the exam and fitting. A second time to pick up my trail contacts and for them to look at them. And a third time to pick up my contact prescription because they refuse to release my prescription to me until my insurance has covered the cost of the visit. They insist that it’s company policy for me to pick up the prescription in person too, as they will not email it. I also do not live in this area full-time and so it will be quite a while until I am able to order contacts again. The doctor is the one who makes these policies and I was told that he refused to make an exception. My experience with this center has been incredibly frustrating, expensive, and time… consuming.

My husband has glaucoma and his pretty well blind in one eye. He sees Dr. Jahnke every 3 months and has been doing so for about 5 years. Dr. Jahnke is patient and extremely thorough, always going over all of the test results with us. He also as a MD alerts us to any possible health issues Don might be experiencing (low heart rate). We love him--and his staff!

I went in to see Dr. Jahnke because I had an eye infection. I called and was scheduled for an appointment the very next day. Upon arriving to the office the lady behind the front desk was very informative and helped me through the process of new patient information, which was very minimal compared to other practices I had been to. I was taken back in less time than I had to open a magazine. The doctor spent a good amount of time with me and helped explain what had happened and how I got the infection. He also explained the directions on how to treat the problem. I haven't been back because the care was so superior that I had no reason to. I know recommend Dr. Jahnke to everyone who has an eye problem. I even tell my friends in Polk County, well worth the drive.

I have gone to Dr. Jahnke for 20 years. He has operated on both of my eyes and the results have been excellent. I highly recommend his office.

Worst eye doc ever. He will charge you for anything and bill you for anything, He turns over staff faster than I can count. He charged me for visit after was told Medicare would cover. I had to pay in full
