Dr. Jonathan Scott Kaplan, DO

While I was in pre-op, and discussing the surgery with the nurse, Dr Kaplan came in and asked a series of questions. One of them, and and I emphasize was not about any surgeries that I had ever had, which are numerous. That being said, they went ahead and anesthetized me and about an hour or hour and a half later I woke up being chastised by this doctor that I had not had advised him that I had had a tracheotomy 15 years ago and because of this failure to communicate, they were unable to do the surgery. When I woke up a little bit more to have a conversation, I was wheeled towards the back door waiting for my wife to pick me up. He came out and again chastised me and I said to him, you never asked me about any surgeries and he said yes I did, and I said no you absolutely did not. He then said would you like me to go get your paperwork, and I said yes. He left, and never came back. Once I got in the car with my wife I told her what he had said, she had been sitting right next to me, and… she absolutely assured me that he never in fact asked a thing about the surgery. this was a horrible experience with this anesthesiologist, and I would absolutely request a new one if in fact he is ever assigned to you.

He took great care of me at the hospital. Helped make me feel comfortable when I was receiving anesthesia
