Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I have always found it rewarding to help people live healthier lives. Working in medicine gives me a great opportunity to come alongside people in an encouraging way to help them live better. What I want my patients to know about me:I believe our time and relationships are the greatest resources we have in life. To the extent that we can be purposeful and rich in these areas defines the success of our lives. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I have always found it therapeutic to spend time in nature, whether backpacking with friends, camping with my family, or flying through the woods on my mountain bike; nature brings me closer to my Creator. I worked in a number of different jobs prior to medicine. Farming with my grandfather, carpentry with my Dad and brothers, and a pretzel factory while in school. I like to think that my life experiences can help me better identify with my patients. My favorite days are spent with my wife and four …children and usually involve great ice cream and lots of laughter.
