Dr. Jonathan Edward Mcghee, MD

When Dr. McGhee walked in and greeted me as i sat in the exam room, everything seemed fine until he looked my body up and down like I was a piece of meat. I have no idea if his behavior was due to lust or disapproval, but it was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. I remained in the room only because it didn't hit me what had occurred until after I left, and I was trying to get help. After I described my symptoms, he asked if I'd ever received a mental health diagnosis, to which I replied, "Yes". Wrong answer if you wish to have your physical symptoms addressed. He proceeded to attribute my insomnia (which I've dealt with for months due to long term stress and having to move twice in two months) and exhaustion, to bipolar mania, apparently. He asked if I heard voices when I was trying to fall asleep (No), if I had hallucinations (No), and then he told me he was going to prescribe Vraylar to help me get some sleep (HA), to which I replied that I doubted it was on the formulary,… being a newer drug. It was not on the formulary, by the way, so I did not pick it up from the pharmacy. I also told him I had done genetic testing through a former psychiatrist which would tell him which drugs work for my genetic make up but had left the records in the car. I have books on adrenaline dominance and adrenal fatigue, too, and feel I am dealing with these things, but his attitude/remarks seemed to mock these ideas. When I asked if he treats adrenal issues, he cut his eyes sharply to the right and lied and said yes. I do indeed believe he lied to my face right then and there. And instead of addressing my real issues, he decided all I needed was an antipsychotic "for sleep" (Ha!) After I left, I looked up the drug. If someone is manic, they don't miss the sleep. This drug is dangerous to take if you have high blood pressure and kidney disease (He knew I have BOTH) and the patient should be monitored often and closely. There was, however, no mention of this when he insisted on prescribing the drug. I had asked for a refill of my regular medications, but for some reason, he decided to play psychiatrist and wanted to fix what is not broken. I am tired of doctors treating me as if I am stupid and that my physical ailments do not matter. It appears he did not believe a word I said for some reason. Oklahoma ranks 50th in healthcare for women, so that might have something to do with this. This is the third male doctor I have tried here in less than a year, and every one of them has behaved similarly. I am a 59 year old woman who knows her own body and takes responsibility for her own health. Doctors here need to catch up and treat women as human beings. My problems are not "in my head". Give me a break.

I relocated to Oklahoma from michigan. I now live with my daughter. He welcomed m. He carefully went over all of my medicines. He's been very patient and I would highly recommend Dr McGhee.

I have seen Dr McGhee for the last couple of years. He is excellent thorough with wonderful bedside manner. My aging mother relocated to Tulsa and is also his patient. He is very patient with my mom and I would highly recommend him.

He was very attentive and spend time trying to learn my medical history. I've seen Dr. McGhee twice and both times he has spend time trying to find out what was going on. He is very polite and seems to care about what is going on with his patients. My son is also a patient. he is the one that recommended him. I would recommend him to others.

Find another dr. I have bad back issues. I told me I needed pain meds but he would not prescribe. he wants to send me to his friend the pain dr. why do I need a pain dr when I'm not looking for several medicines. why does he practice if he is not willing to help. worse dr. Don't waste ur time

When diagnosing me with stage 3 kidney disease I asked what caused it and if there was things I should do or not do. He told me it was caused of aging (I'm 75) and not enough intake of fluids and there was nothing I should do and he would keep a watch on my meds. After researching kidney disease I found that I should see a Dietician and Nephrologist. The advise he gave me was inaccurate and I don't trust him anymore. I'll be looking for a different family physician, hopefully one with more experience.

Complete waste of a day. I found a real doctor to treat me

I went into the clinic to be seen for sharp abdominal pain, I was in a a lot of pain and he just treated me like I was in there just for drugs. His tone of voice was very unprofessional, and once he seen my x-rays, he was trying to be nice. Turns out I needed a major surgery. So when I go to this clinic if he is there I request another doctor.
