He also specializes in Toric intraocular lens implants to treat astigmatism. Hundreds of doctors from multiple specialties have trusted Dr. Pirnazar to perform surgeries on their patients, friends, family, and even themselves.
Dr. Pirnazar was one of the first surgeons in California to perform laser-assisted cataract surgery. He has been featured on the nationally broadcast show “The Doctors” on CBS as well as “American Health Journal” on PBS. He uses ORA (Optiwave Refractive Analysis) during cataract surgery to ensure that the correct intraocular lens is being implanted. Additionally, Dr. Pirnazar performs corneal cross-linking and intacs …for the treatment of keratoconus.
Dr. Pirnazar is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and received his medical degree with honors from the University of Illinois, Chicago School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis, where he also served as Chief Director of University Eye Service. He continued his education with fellowship training in corneal and refractive surgery at the University of California, Irvine, where he also served as an assistant professor for ten years.
Dr. Pirnazar’s extensive experience in both surgery and pharmaceutical trials has made him a sought-after expert among doctors in the field of ophthalmology, and he has published articles in respected medical journals, including the American Journal of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology Times.
In 2017, Dr. Pirnazar and his partners at NVISION were selected to be the official team ophthalmologists for the Los Angeles Chargers. When he isn’t working, Dr. Pirnazar enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, playing tennis and watching NFL Football on Sundays.
