Dr. Jonathan M Sternlieb, MD

I saw Dr Sternlieb a few years ago. He was very nice and actually listened to me. He didn't dismiss me. I've had horrible experiences with Doctors but I could tell he really cared and did not like that I was in so much pain (sadly I've been told in so many words too bad by many doctors). He was down to earth and when I went for my endoscopy he made a few jokes. I think he could tell I was nervous and wanted me to be comfortable. Also the staff was very nice.

Dr. Sternlieb is an excellent, caring, very smart, and knowledgeable doctor. He exudes care about his patients and is very helpful and friendly. He spends time explaining situations and offering recommendations and has always followed up promptly with answers to any questions. He has a terrific grasp of patient concerns and past history and addresses them during each visit -- offering excellent recommendations. He went very much out of his way to help schedule imminent, necessary procedures for my wife when she needed them prior to thoracic surgery at another hospital. I disagree completely with a review submitted by another patient -- I can only think that this patient had a bad attitude and negative feelings for some reason going into seeing Dr. Sternlieb and that colored his feelings. Even the best people in the world have a hard time when confronted with negative attitudes and rudeness as this patient may have exhibited. In the years I have been treated by Dr.… Sternlieb I find that that review is far, far from the truth. I was introduced to Dr. Sternlieb by my primary care physician who recommended him highly and the recommendation has been well founded.

Between my husband and myself, we saw 6 of the physicins in this practice. None helped either my husband or me. I singled out Sternlieb because both my husband and I saw him and were not impressed. I found him to be arrogant and mediocre. The other five spent little time with either my husband or me, and were too busy typing info into their laptop computers to even hear what I was saying. The gastroenterologists at Fox Chase Cancer are superior physicians and see patients who do not have cancer. Drs. Weinberg and Heller are excellent,zpend time with you,and are understanding and accommodate your needs. The entire hospital is efficiently run and the staff are very helpful and eager to assist in any way. The practice is too big and is more like a business. When you've got that many physicians in a practice, who knows how many are competent or not? If Gastrointestinal Associates were the only GI specialists in PA, I would travel to NJ or NY to see a specialist rather than see any of… these clowns.
