His office lied to us that services were covered under our plan (as it has others as documented online), charging almost $400 for a routine cleaning/x-ray that would have been free under our insurance elsewhere.

During my most recent routine visit I declined services (x-rays and fluoride treatment). Later when reviewing my EOB, these services were still billed to my insurance! This is the second time I have been billed for services that were not rendered. I will be seeking dental care from another dentist.

I have been seeing Dr. Su for a few years, and up until the last three visits, I genuinely believe he had an honest practice and excellent patient care in mind. Unfortunately, over the last three visits, I have been billed separately for things like local anesthetic for cavities. My insurance laughed and said that anesthesia should be included in any cavity treatment. Then on my last visit for a cavity, Dr. Su assured me that my cavity was shallow enough that I didn't need Novocain. He proceeded drilling! On the final placement of my crown, he allowed his front desk staff (without a dental degree of any kind) to place the final crown. It was frustrating to say the least. I'm not sure what has changed at this office, but expect to be prepared to listen carefully to the treatment they want to do on you during the visit. I had to decline a fluoride treatment and extra xrays during my most recent visit because I knew my insurance wouldn't cover the fluoride since I'm an adult, and I had… just had xrays within the last year.
