Dr. Jonathan S Treisman, MD

He misdiagnosed my cancer and didn’t start any treatment until 7 months after my first visit. By then my tumor had grown from 1 cm to 8cm. I got a second opinion at Froedtert and they saved my life. Dr. Treisman misdiagnosed the pain I was having and I almost got a hysterectomy. Thank God I went to Froedtert for a second opinion since all the pain was from my cancer and once I received treatment my pain was better. I would have had an invasive surgery because of his mistakes! He has HORRIBLE bedside manner- never looked me in they eyes, only kept typing on his laptop. He never explained anything about treatment (or why he wasn’t doing any treatment!) and he got antagonistic if I had questions. He doesn’t confer with other doctors like they do at Froedtert. He runs hours behind. They tell you it’s because he takes time with each patient. But it’s because it’s like pulling teeth to get any information. Even if you think he’s good and you like him, PLEASE GET A SECOND OPINION!!

Dr Treisman is my mother's oncologist. I am not a doctor, but I am a cancer survivor myself (twice). Because of that I do have pretty extensive experience on what patients with cancer should expect from their cancer doctor. Throughout my entire cancer experience I had one doctor whom I absolutely loved. He was considerate and helped as much as he could to make me feel at ease throughout my entire treatment process and onto the post treatment care. I trusted him. He was everything that Dr Treisman is NOT. It is understandable that a specialist such as an oncologist would spend additional time with patients to help them with their questions and concerns about their diagnosis. This time may cause them to run behind throughout the day. I do not believe this is in any way the reason that Dr Treisman is consistently HOURS late for his patient's appointments. When you finally get into a room for him you then wait additionally for him to actually read your test results right in front… of you. All the while he's staring at a computer screen, not giving the patient any consideration whatsoever. You sit there and stare at him while he reads through your file! I do not believe that that this is a review of the file, this is the first time he's even glancing at them. Then when he does finally finish reading the file he is short, provides clipped one word answers and seems to not care at all that he just told you your cancer is back. Seriously, his tone doesn't change the least bit. He can't even fake compassion! If you don't mind spending an entire day at the doctor's office waiting to see a doctor for 5 minutes who may or may not answer any questions you have, in a manner that may or may not be clipped and rude, then this might be the doc for you. If that doesn't sound like the ideal way to spend probably the worst times of your life (because you wouldn't be there if you or someone you loved didn't have cancer) then I really highly recommend getting a second opinion.

Dr. Treisman is a very kind, committed to his patients and a highly respected oncologist. My daughter was under his care for 2 yrs with melanoma. While that cancer gives a person less than 10yrs he did everything he could go keep the cancer at bay incl getting her an appt in Chicago for clinical trials!. Dr. Triesman is the reason our daughter lived almost 8 yrs. And he NEVER gave up. He will always be #1 oncologist in our view.

Every single appointment I’ve had has gone and hour or more past the time I was to be seen. Maybe they need to change the appointment times so the patients who are worrying about their health don’t need to be kept waiting

I have only started treating with Dr. Treisman and have seen him only twice. I am, however, quite impressed with his manner of talking to his patients, advising and explaining. Having worked with doctors for 30 years I can tell you most doctors don't want to give you so much of their time. Their time is far more important than yours most of the time. Dr. Treisman is more patient and more thorough. If it takes an extra 5 or 10 minutes to explain he doesn't rush through it. I think he's a fine man and a fine doctor. Another patient once told me " you're going to love him"! You will too.

He’s a good dr but the last 3 appointments I had with him, I wait 2 hours PAST my appointment time before I was taken to a room, and waited an additional 15 minutes there. The medical assistant that roomed me didn’t appear to have all her faculties-either that or she was on something. And the front desk people are THE RUDEST I’ve ever had to deal with. Ask a question and you get an attitude like you’ve bothered them.

My husband was given dr. Treisman to see when it was determined he had Cancer. Now we don't know much about the type of Cancer he has but we were really unable to get a lot of information from him. My daughters would come to the visit with us at times and try to ask questions regarding the type of Cancer but Dr. Treisman would only get angry at them or Me.... It really unacceptable behavior from him. When no one in our family ever had Cancer and all of a sudden my husband had it we wanted to find out as much about the treatment, etc. Dr. Treisman just didn't feel treatment was necessary however my husband was in a lot of pain and was not being treated at all. One visit after another Dr. Treisman did not know the results of Tests until he would try to read them in front of us and still be able to answer questions(which he was angry about)….We changed doctors after 2 1/2 years of dissatisfaction!!!! We do not recommend this doctor to anyone!!!!!

Excellent bedside manner. Made me feel at ease of situation at hand.

He is always late. ALWAYS. I once waited an hour and a half past my appointment time just to see him. He didn't listen to me once during my exam, instead he spent his entire time staring at his computer (presumably because he was running so late he didn't have time to glance at my history beforehand). His staff is incompetent especially his finance department. I would not recommend going to see him. There are better and easier options for medical care out there.

Excellent doctor. Wait time is usually long but it's because he listens to his patients.
