Dr. Jonathan Yin, MD

I had a great experience with Dr. Yin, for a total hip joint replacement in May 2025. I selected him for reviews, and because he is experienced with the anterior approach, leaving a much better recovery path for the patient. I was walking up my stairs right after I came home from surgery. Within 6 weeks I was back to riding my bike 16mi and resuming all activities. Dr. Yin's attention to detail was superb. He encouraged the use of antiseptic soap several days prior to surgery to reduce chances of infection, for example. (He reports never having had a case of post surgical infection, even with doing some 300 of these operations/year.) His concern for safety and a plan for successful surgery was super helpful in my case-- I take a blood thinner, and he had to balance too much bleeding against post surgical clotting. He came up with a plan and coordinated very well with my monitoring agency, and made this look easy-- it became a non-issue, really. Day of surgery was not rushed, but not… slow either. His anesthesia/spinal team did a great job, and the whole surgery team seemed relaxed yet collaborative and coordinated so well in the OR before I went under. Recovery was quick and uneventful. I was left with a five-star impression of the overall process, from diagnosis of arthritis through imaging and pre-op discussions, to the surgery itself, the "nurse navigator" assistance available 24/7, and post-surgical checkups. Two months after my surgery, I am biking and hiking like I used to, and the pain is completely gone. I don't notice the metal joint at all. I am super glad I trusted Dr. Yin with this surgery, and would definitely do it again if I have another hip go out. My highest recommendation goes out to Dr. Yin; if you need a hip replacement, he is your surgeon, and he comes with a huge team of professionals that make it seamless and straightforward.
