Dr. Jonathon Joseph Evans, MD

I just want it to be known that Dr Evans is the best ever hew was my pediatric doctor as well as my sister's and now my son is his grand patient. I value him and his opinions. So many pediatric Doctors over diagnosis children now and days. i love the fact that he is old school and finds healthy and natural ways to cure anything unless its absolutely necessary to do otherwise. Dr Evans you are appreciated. We have known and loved you for over 30 years the Dixon family hopes and prays for you to continue doing what you were blessed to do and nothing but health and happiness. We love you ALWAYS! and thank you for being YOU!

He was and I’m sure still is the most vile uncaring pediatrician out there. My sons is.24 years old now. When he was six he was very sick. “Dr” Evans kept impatiently sending us Home telling me there was nothing wrong. I took him in a few times within a couple days I was so concerned. Finally since the “dr” had absolutely no care at all for my child’s wellbeing, even though he was a shade of green and lethargic, I took him to the ER. He was extremely dehydrated and had to be in hospital care for two days. Then when my son was nine or ten, he had excruciating hip pain. “Dr” Evans was abrupt each time and would send us home stating it was just a bruised muscle . Finally after a month I convinced him to X-ray. There was a cyst the size of an orange in his hip bone. I was shocked as the “dr” through up his hands telling me he didn’t have time for this but my son would have nurses at Riley Oncology who will listen. Then he ended the appointment and dismissed us saying our referral to… oncology would be at the front desk. I will never forget his attitude of superiority and neglect of obvious medical issues that were of utmost importance to address. To this day I still think I should have reported him to the medical board.

Excellent Physician. Available when needed and/or makes time for patient. Very specific about care needed and provides instruction and suggestion. We have received care from Dr. Evans for 9 years.

First, it has been a few years since my children went to him. At first he was great, very nice and courteous. Then after about a year, each visit he seemed less patient. I had a 2 year old at the time and they were hungry and sick, and he literally yelled at my child to be quiet so that he and I could talk! My child is normally very shy and respectful, so this was not the norm. Dr Evans was so unprofessional. I refused to go anymore, and the worst part, was that once my child's records were transferred, we were informed that his staff had administered the chicken pox vaccine when I had refused it, because my child had already had chicken pox! That has to be against the law somehow!Anyway- if you want a delayed vaccine schedule- do not go to him. If you do not want your child to get yelled at, don't go to him, either!

The staff is always courteous, concerned and willing to assist. Dr. Evans is just plain heaven sent. He's not a pill pusher taking the most natural approach he can, but will prescribe meds when genuinely needed. Sometimes the wait is a bit long; but he listens to you, explains things in layman's terms if needed, patient, and kids just LOVE him!

I met with Dr. Evans prior to my son's birth 18 years ago. I knew immediately that he was wonderful. My son was born at Methodist Hospital, and Dr. Evan's performed his circumcision and visited me in the hospital. We have followed Dr. Evan's since that time and will miss him when my son becomes "too old" for a pediatrician. I would recommend him to anyone!!! He is so devoted to his patient's and I feel like we have all grown up together these past years!
