Dr. Jongming M Li, MD

I was very happy with Dr. Li. He immediately knew what my problem was and suggested ways to improve my health. So happy I was sent/chose Dr. Li!

Sometimes, you should take online reviews with a grain of salt. Not this time. Other patients' bad experiences are very similar to mine. If you like a doctor that doesn't listen, takes valuable time telling you how smart he is, and doesn't bother to read your chart, go to Dr. Li. For us, it was such a bad experience that we're driving to Cleveland for care.

Misdiagnosed, scared family members and patient, doesn’t listen -complete waste of a salary.

I wish I had read these reviews before my appointment with Dr. Li. He kept me waiting (in spite of TWO reminder phone calls ahead of my appointment to make sure that I was on time), and then was very hurried with me. Being hurried, and having an accent on top of it made him extremely hard to understand. I tried to explain about previous testing that I had had, and he acted like it didn't matter. I'm not even sure that he read any of the history that I provided. He hurriedly explained that I needed further testing, but, knowing that they do a lot of their own testing at the RCC, I thought I would be getting it THAT day, and I would be able to return to him and ask questions. Nope. I needed to go to the hospital for my sonogram, so I was not able to ask him any more questions that day. It was all very hurried and confusing. I was able to read my sonogram results on the UPMC patient portal---but I never got a call from him or his nurse to explain or interpret the… results---just a call from the scheduler to tell me that he ordered an MRI for me. Are you serious? I am not sure that this test is even needed---and I plan to change to another doctor before I will consent to further testing. Don't go to this guy.

Reading the other reviews of Dr. Li, I was very nervous before my appointment. My experience was wonderful! He was polite, answered all questions, had a great sense of humor, I couldn't have asked for a better doctor.

Dr. LI is the most rude, insulting, condescending, offensive doctor I have ever encountered in my life! I simply asked questions about my loved cancer and he got defensive and started insulting me and was extremely arrogant professing that he was an ONCOLOGIST so what he says is all right and how dare anyone question him or say anything in opposition to him. I am horrified my loved is under his care, I am actively seeking a new doctor. He is the worst and utterly disgusts me. He has zero care for his patients, he just wants to get in and get out. Extremely disheartening especially when dealing with a life threatening disease such as cancer!

My 87 year old father in law was referred to dr. Li by a by a Nuero dr because of protein levels were high. My dad came home from an appointment with a new appointment to have a bone marrow biopsy. After my thoughts as a nurse and knowing the history of my dad I questioned why a bone marrow biopsy? First off my dad is on dialysis. I called the office and spoke to nurse about my concerns. She than returned my call after she spoke with doctor li and he said to come in fir appointment to discuss his blood work. At the appointment with dr. Li he was very rude and was beating around the bush per say with the questions I had pertaining to whys bone marrow biopsy. He said because your father had kidney failure. I said he sure does! I asked the dr if he knew why he had kidney failure? He said" i assume".he has multiple myloma and this is the reasoning for his high protein and and why on dialysis. I next informed him that he is on dialysis from only having one kidney since he was 4 years old… from an injury after being kicked by a horse! After making him aware of this he changed his tune and than continued to state "I assume" myloma. I was in distraught over this dr. Ordering unnecessary test fir a 87 year old man that he was not even aware of his true history! I than asked to gidcyss the blood work as we were told by his nurse after she has called him because we were canceling his bone Mattie diagnosis and he told us to still come on to discuss his blood work. Now when asked he stated he didi not have the blood work? Wth? I'm sure it was in the chart he was holding if my dads. This dr. Is manipulative and making in wise choices with people health! Stay away Ann do not go to him! Very unprofessional!

I found him condescending, dismissive, and uncaring. Actually laughed at concerns I had. Perhaps he should be working in a lab and not dealing with patients.

I questioned Dr. Li about my boyfriend's chemo treatment while he was being hospitalized at Hamot. We usually dealt with Dr. Rothman, but he was out of the office for the week. Dr. Li was practically yelling at me for questioning his decision. His comments were condescending. He essentially called me an idiot and told me that any other doctor would tell me the exact same thing. He then proceeded to tell me about the previous places he worked and all of his credentials. I felt like a young child being scolded rather than a concerned girlfriend. I would stay as far away from Dr. Li as possible. Worst bedside manners I have ever seen in a doctor.
