Dr. Joni Arti Bhutra, MD

Undereducated and awful. She tried to forcefully retract my sons foreskin. I had to tell her to stop and she came back with "I do this to all my patients". WOW Then she said it should be retracted by the age of one. Absolutely NOT. This can do damage. I let her manager know. I am still so irritated and deeply disturbed by the amount of babies she has harmed.

Completely confused my son's vaccine schedule and almost double vaccinated him until i stopped her and said that he has already had the vaccine she was trying to give him along with his boosters. She does not let you question her vaccines and refuses to enlighten you as to their benefits vs drawbacks. Quick to call CPS for anything, even asking a simple question about whether or not a vaccine is necessary. DO NOT go to this Dr unless you want to wrap yourself up in a mess with CPS. There are other Medi-Cal providers in Simi that are superior to this malarkey,

Dr Joni Bhutra seems nice on the surface but nice doesn't mean she's a good doctor. I took my 3 yo son to her two times because he was sick and wasn't getting better. She listened to his lungs, did blood work and looked him over. She failed to hear pneumonia in his lungs, twice, and never requested an X-ray or scan. She knew he had an infection somewhere in his body because the blood work showed elevated white Blood cells. My son ended up in the icu because he didn't receive the proper care he should have gotten the first 2 times this doctor checked him over. On a prior visit her staff administered an expired mmr vaccination to my daughter. There is something very wrong with this clinic and this doctor. Do not trust her or the clinic to give your child proper care. I sincerely mean that.

My daughter is a patient of Dr. Bhutra's and has had numerous Dr.'s throughout the years but none of them match Dr. Bhutra. She takes her time to explain exactly what is going on and not in "DR. Talk" but language you understand and makes sure you are completely comfortable with what she said before you leave. She doesn't rush you out the door or hurry you to get to the next patient. Also, she actually calls me after an appt. to see how things are going if it is something that is kind of serious....what Dr. now days does that. We are on Medi-cal but haven't always been, we have had some of the "great Dr's " that good insurance supposedly gets you but none have matched Dr. Bhutra's knowledge and skills. And she is really funny and personable which puts you at ease immediately. Thank you Dr. Buhtra Trina Hunn and Brandy Alps

I think Dr. Bhutra is a great pediatrician and trust her completely with my little boy. I have only ever had positive experiences with her. If she doesnt feel confident in an area of medicine she is very quick to direct you to someone who is.
