Dr. Jordan Lawrence Heffez, MD

I was referred to Dr J. Heffez by by ophthalmologist. I saw him than 5 times due to diabetic retinopathy in my right eye that has floaters and possibly leaks which fogs the vision. The first time after tests etc... he said I needed a vitrectomy operation, that I should consider to do it very quickly otherwise he will not be able to help me!! I saw him again for follow up and he repeated the same thing without any explanation about the actual operation, except that it is an in and out operation at the hospital and it will be less than one hour. This time he added that there is the option of having an injection done at the clinic, but that I will have to do that every month approximately. I went to follow up within a month on my eye. This time - without preperation I was told -without prior preparation- that he is going to do laser laser to the other "better" eye. I thought this may take a few minutes. He did 20 minutes of laser to my left eye with a few seconds break. I was… not prepared at all. Everything became purple and I could not see for a long time after this laser. I had NO one to drive me home which necessitated my wait in the lobby. This was scary experience to say the least. The next day the eye was fogged up like a dirty window. I called and went to see him again and he said there is nothing wrong with the eye. I was disappointed with Dr. Heffez. He made me nervous. He did laser without preparing me. I have gone since to another retina specialist with whom I am happy and he is monitoring my eyes very cautiously.

The staff and physicians are the most exceptional medical staff I have ever been a patient of and I hope to be a patient of this medical group for years to come. I am extremely happy here.

Dr. Heffez is very personable. He listens to his patients and he's very caring. He doesn't rush you if you have a problem. He is one of the best doctors I've seen in a long time. He diagnosed my problem so well and so correctly that I felt better immediately after my visit. Really a great doctor.
