Dr. Jordan Myers Prendergast, DO

Dr. Prendergast has been my family doctor for 7 years. When I first saw her I had just had a baby and had 7 surgeries in 9 months. I was in a lot of pain and nobody could find the cause. She sent me to a doctor that was able to diagnose the problem. Any time I was sick I was able to get an appointment to see her quickly. She has always been friendly and kind. She listens and make sure she understands what I'm going through, what my needs are and finds the best way to help me. If something doesn't work as hoped, then she will try different things until she finds a solution to help me with what I'm experiencing. I have had many family doctors over the years, but she is the only one who has taken the time to get to know me. She does everything she can to help me when I need medical attention, and if I need something she is not able to do, then she makes sure that she send me to the best doctor to help, such as when I needed orthopedic surgery. Even though she has recently moved to a new… location, I will be switching doctor's offices, so that I can continue to have her as my primary care physician.

I suffer from severe acid reflux. In trying to get a medication preapproval through insurance, I had to call the office 5 times over the course of 3 1/2 weeks. Each time I gave them the needed update of insurance information. They kept sending the request to the incorrect insurance. I even called and asked if I needed to make an appointment with the doctor and was td it was not necessary. I was in extreme discomfort and could not lay down with out severe burning and chest pain. I even begged for a medication that did not require a doctors approval with the insurance company to help ease some discomfort, even though I knew it would not be totally effective. After the 5th call and 3 1/2 weeks of extreme pain, burning in my esophagus and lack of sleep- I got angry with the staff. They said I needed to come in and see Dr Prendergast at that point. I was very angry, sleep deprived and in extreme discomfort by this time after 3 1/2 weeks without proper medication. When I got yo the… office, not only did they still have the wrong insurance information- haven been give the correct information multiple times over the course of this time period , thy were more concerned with defending their mishandling of this situation, than concern for the pain and discomfort their mishandling caused a patient. Not only do I have severe acid reflux, there is a long familial history of throat and esophageal cancer on both my father and mother sides of my family history- The total lack of patient concern is inexcusable and unprofessional.
