Dr. Jorge Luis Ajuria, MD

Dr. Ajuria has been dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive medical care to patients with chronic kidney disease, end-stage kidney disease, complex hypertension, and kidney transplants since he moved to South Florida in 2003. Previously serving as the Chief of Nephrology at Holy Cross Hospital, he is currently a faculty member at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, where he contributes to the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Holy Cross Hospital. As an active member and Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, he specializes in a variety of areas, including acute kidney injury caused by drug toxicity, the intersection of HIV infection and kidney disease, and both acute and chronic glomerular nephritis alongside their immune suppression therapies.Dr. Ajuria is particularly focused on the recovery of acute kidney failure and the safe discontinuation of dialysis, as well as the management of complicated hypertension.
