I was treated by Dr. Valdes for my foot fracture and was pleased with his bedside manner and the time he took to explain his everything to myself and my wife. He's the best!

My husband and I have been visiting Dr. Valdes for the last two years and we were very happy with his treatment for both of us... we had medicare and Horizon insurance and had no problems but as a retiree from New Jersey public schools our insurance was changed one month ago to medicare plus aetna ppo. We went for an appointment yesterday Feb. 4 and were denied treatment if we did not pay upfront.. I had called aetna medicare and they assured me that They would pay.. to go on to the appointment. My husband and I are very disappointed that we could not talk to the Dr. or if we didn’t pay ahead we could not be serviced... very disappointed we walked out... I was never expecting this response from this Dr. and him being from Puerto Rico like us we felt humiliated and disappointed with him because money upfront is what he wants... My husband and I do not reccomend him.. we had the money to pay but it was the lack of treatment and money hungry attitude from his staff and Dr. that really… amazed us.. I just told the staff its your lost.. two responsable patients that you have lost!!

I am very disappointed that Dr. Valdes requires for me to pay 100% of the visit, even though my insurance covers 80%. I was told that the visit is $175, but regardless of my deductible being met, he would still bill me the total amount and also bill the insurance. In other words, he would get paid twice for the visit. I do not understand the reason, but I consider this to be a very unfair and greedy practice. I cannot afford to pay the insurance's portion (Which I am NOT responsible for), so I had no choice but to cancel my appointment.
