Dr. Jose Alonso-Escalante, MD, is a general surgeon at CommonSpirit General Surgery Dodge City. His care philosophy is rooted in treating every patient as he would a member of his own family. Dr. Alonso is deeply committed to fostering clear communication and delivering surgical excellence, aiming to earn the trust of each individual he treats.Dr. Alonso completed both his undergraduate education and medical school at Universidad de Costa Rica. He honed his surgical skills during his General Surgery Residency at Allegheny Health Network, followed by a specialized Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery Fellowship at Northwestern University.Outside of his practice, Dr. Alonso enjoys running, weightlifting, cooking and various outdoor activities.
