Dr. Jose Luis Bigles Geigel, MD

Since I have used Dr. Blue before I expected the same service. Dr. Bigles is a nice man but he is overbooking himself. I had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes to be called back. When I asked about the couple that came in after me getting to go back after I had been there an hour the receptionist did not know why. That same couple left while I was sitting an EXTENDED time to let my eyes dilate. My visit was a routine exam and I was on time. Dr. Bigles needs to take into consideration that his patients' time should be valued and not wasted in a sitting room wondering when you will be next. Waiting a few minutes is expected but 75 minutes (plus all the time I was dilating, which was extended) is a problem. It was also unusual that in the waiting room the patients could hear every phone conversation that the receptionist had. It did not seem professional at all. Actually, very annoying since I had to sit there so long. My time is valuable too.

I was referred to this doctor by my GP after he believed I had cataracts. So surgery was next. I was told by the hospital staff that Dr. Bigles Geigel has no hospital privileges. What if something was to happen during surgery and I needing to go to the hospital. Can he even be there to do anything to help me?

I have been going to a variety of doctors for 64 years now and without a doubt Dr. Bigles relates to his patients better than any I have ever dealt with. I would say he has the best "bedside manner" of any doctor I have ever had, but I don't want to scare anyone away thinking that cataract surgery will put you in bed. It's just a way of saying he's the best I've ever related to. He is extremely perceptive and sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of his patients putting them at ease from the moment you first meet. I, like most people, was apprehensive at the thought of someone cutting into my eyes, but after 5 minutes with Dr. Bigles I was ready for anything. The entire experience, from the first examination to the final post-op follow up after the second eye was complete, was as pleasurable and pain free as any medical experience could possibly be. In fact, after my first eye was done I had an appointment with my dental hygienist. After she finished cleaning my teeth… she asked me how the "whole cataract surgery thing was?" I had to tell her that it was a lot better than what she had just done to me! Dr. Bigles not only has a great bedside manner, but he is an expert in his field. He used the latest laser procedures on both my eyes, successfully correcting my astigmatism and rendering me 20 20 in both eyes. His office and nursing staff are top notch, professional, courteous and genuinely interested in the patient's well being. They went out of their way to accommodate my every need and request. I just can't say enough about this whole experience. I must confess that I spent weeks agonizing over which doctor to choose to do my surgeries, and I thank God for finally leading me to Dr. Bigles. If you are within driving distance of Covington, Ga. it will be well worth your time to choose Dr. Bigles for your eye care needs.

Dr. Bigles, I am very sorry for the hurtful review I wrote in haste regarding my dad a few months ago. I was angry and did not give you an opportunity to address my concerns. I would also like to apologize to your staff and anyone who may have been affected by my angry remarks. After meeting with you, I feel that you are an understanding and very compassionate person. I know that you are a very skilled and accomplished surgeon and that you care for your patients. I would not hesitate to come to you or recommend you to my friends and family. Again, Dr. Bigles, please accept my sincerest apology and thank you for addressing my concerns. Also, a special thanks to Christy and Stacy for their help and kindness as well.

Dr. Bigles is simply an amazing doctor! Wouldn't be able to see 20/20!!!! without him!

Dr. Bigles did cataract and multi-focal lens surgery on both of my eyes. I was very afraid, but Dr. Bigles' calm demeanor put me at ease immediately as he walked me through both surgeries. Today I don't even wear glasses! His staff is fun, lively and seem to really care about their patients. In today's medical world -- that can make all the difference in the world. Thanks Dr. Bigles.

Everyone was just wonderful . They staff is so very caring and compassionate. There are not words to describe Dr Bigles....he is the very best! My husband can see better than he has in years. There was no pain no discomfort. By the way, the turkey sandwich was a winner too!

I've been to see Dr. Bigles a few times. Each time has been wonderful! His front desk staff takes time with you and they are so nice! I barely had time to sit down when i got there! There have been times where i waited longer than I wanted but that is expected at a doctors office. The technicians were so nice and could tell they really cared about my eyes. Dr. Bigles was an excellent doctor. He took his time and patience with me. Also, they have a nice variety of glasses and the staff at the glasses side were informative. He took his time to help me look for glasses and told me what works best for me. Overall my experiences at this office have been amazing. I definitely recommend this office.

Today I had a large cataract removed from my left eye by dr bigles. Tonight I can see clearly for the first time in years. I was diagnosed with cataracts two years ago, but without insurance or resources I had few options, even as the two (!!) types of cataracts in my left eye grew rapidly. Looking for work , reading, driving ... All became increasingly difficult and finally impossible.Today's procedure was possible because of the generosity of Lighthouse for the Blind and Dr. Bigles, each of whom have borne the expense of my surgery. Yet I was never made to feel any less important than paying customers.I never waited more than five min for any appt. each and every staff person mirrors Dr Bigles compassion, warmth and skill. He is going to do my right eye next week. I recommend him very highly. In giving me my eyesight, he has given me hope for getting back on my feet. And also I plucked my eyebrows by myself tonight for the first time in over a year!

DR.BIGLES,IS ONE OF THE NICES DR's I have ever been to .you can understand he's instructions so good .this keeps me from making mistakes when i'am taking care of my eyes,HE is such a fine man.
