Dr. Jose Fernando Lizcano-Perez, MD

Jose F. Lizcano, M.D., is a transplant nephrologist at the Piedmont Transplant Institute. His special interests include kidney and liver transplant clinical approaches and immunosuppressive therapy in allograft renal transplant. Dr. Lizcano received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Valle in Cali, Columbia where he graduated with honors in the top percent of his class. He completed his general and medical transplant nephrology fellowship at the University of South Florida where he was chief fellow. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Prior to joining the Piedmont team, Dr. Lizcano served as a transplant nephrologist at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. In his spare time, Dr. Lizcano enjoys playing sports (especially soccer), traveling and watching a good movie. Dr. Lizcano is fluent in Spanish. He welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
