Dr. Joseph Christopher Adongay, MD

Dr. Adongay is not given to small talk, which may be unsettling to some patients; but, he is willing to answer questions & explain things. Initially, I didn't know what to ask so I was a bit confused; however, I did some research on my own & was able to ask questions about things I didn't understand or needed to have clarified. He did not rush me into having surgery. He ordered some medical tests. He also conferred with my urologist * OB-GYN whom I had seen for other medical issues. Both of these doctors had examined me & ordered tests. All 3 doctors discussed my condition & the unanimous decision was that my rectal prolapse should be corrected before my other conditions were addressed. It was only then that Dr. Adongay agreed to perform a robotic, laparoscopic non-mesh rectoplexy to fix my rectal prolapse. He explained the procedure & described how he would do it. The day of my surgery, he took time beforehand to talk to me & explain why he might not be able to… avoid using staples when reattaching my rectum to my sacrum. I was uncharacteristically emotional & he told me he didn’t have to do the surgery that day if I wasn’t ready. However, his explanations reassured me & I chose to go ahead. During the 3 days I stayed in the hospital, Dr. Adongay told me I had the worse full thickness rectal prolapsed he’d ever seen & that my sigmoid colon was unusually long. He was so concerned that I was not recovering as he had expected & was going to send me to rehab. However on the 3rd day my progress had greatly improved & he felt I could go home instead, which I did. Since then I have made a full recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Adongay.

Dr. Adongay did my umbilical hernia and told me it would 6-8 weeks to heal.i was still in pain and could barely move after 2 months.he said i was fine and kicked me to the curb.now its been 1yr.and 6.5 months and im still having pain and problems.im fine he sais,i dont think so.never go to him again!
