Dr. Joseph Anthony Boscia, MD

My mom finally found a doctor she feels takes her cough issue seriously and is taking steps to work toward a diagnosis in a timely manner.

Went to him for shortness of breath. He said I was making myself sick and I needed a psychiatrist. I change drs and I had a MRI at Piedmont image and I have a mild case of Interstitial lung disease so I am not crazy. Will never refer any one to him.

The best doctor ever!!!

Boscia, upon being told that my 85 year old mother was hard of hearing, leaned down inches from her face, cupped his hands around his mouth and screamed at her. He should thank his lucky stars my brothers were not there. (Of course, had they been, Boscia would not have done this). I am reporting this to the SRMC Board of Directors and the SC Medical Board. Boscia embarrassed my mother and my sister (who was the patient). Likewise, hospital personnel were mortified; the entire hallway went completely silent, and a nurse remarked to my sister, “I believe it ‘s time for a new pulmonologist.” One question for Boscia: Who do you think you are?

I give this man my up most respect he has stood BESIDE me in my time of NEEDS when ever I call he always there i have grown to know that when I'm in his hands God is right beside us he has NEVER fell me yet . Thank you God for giving me a strong and wise man to use your tools. He is Blessed

Dr. Boscia is in critical care, and that means that he should be experienced dealing with patients who have a traumatic diagnosis. While I am sure he is technically competent, criticizing me as a patient for attempting to take notes rather than give him eye contact, was not acceptable to me. If you can deal with a paternalistic dr who wants you to accept his expertise without question, he would be fine for you.

Dr. Boscia is a wonderful doctor who told me what I needed to hear to quit smoking. His staff is great and most doctor's would throw you on the back burner if you don't have insurance but he remembered what was important and took me into consideration. much recommendation
