Dr. Joseph Ronald Brightwell, MD

Arrogant, pompous, and incompetent sum us this guy pretty well. I was sent to him by his practice partner, Dr. Harmon, who treated me for over a year for a dangerous cancer without knowing what she was treating. She finally got concerned enough to send me to the doctor "who handles all our carcinomas". She left the room after those words leaving me worried and confused. Brightwell refused to biopsy my growth and scolded me for not having enough patience to wait for "this thing to go away". He told me that he doubted that I was following the instructions to put a warm compress on it enough. "Put a warm compress on it" was the best advice from this team of ophthalmologists when faced with a cancer called sebaceous carcinoma. I got mad enough due to Brightwell being such a jerk to go to U of L MDs where I had tumor removal, eyelid removal, reconstructive surgery, and 25 rounds of radiation to treat my cancer. "Put a warm compress on it" was the best advice that I got for my… cancer from this clown. Run, don't walk to another practice. They are too busy raking in the $$ from the Lasik and cataract money machine to practice real medicine.

Great at explaining my problem and how he could help. Excellent bedside manner, no long wait in the office or scheduling my surgery.
