I was one of Dr Joes first hand full of patients when he first started practice i9n Akron. Ohio .. I Never regretted one time in the 30 of years that he was my dr. He told me like it was and I learned to accept it as gospel . Like it or not .. I knew if he said this i9s whats wrong and this is how we will fix it. he let me cry when I needed to and other times told me to stop . he helped me raise my 5 children and they all listened to him. I have had many different dr,s over the years for different surgery and none of the drs could hold a candle to him. His compassion for his patients was quite evident when my husb on his death bed in the hospital and he came to see ME {my had a cancer dr} He knelt down beside me and Cried with me because he could not .save him for me . I will never forget him as long as I live . If you check the Akron beacon journal files a number of years ago he won a contest of why you like you dr and he won… the whole thing because of his compassion. joe no long is in practice and summa gave me a new dr. .. a lady dr. and I do not care for her at all.. shge spends 10 mins tops with me .

One thing about Dr. Joe, he listens to you without interrupting, very compassionate, honest, caring, knowledgeable and very respectful. I have been a patient of Dr. Joe's for over 30 years and in 2011 I went into total heart failure and if it wasn't for the fast reaction of Dr. Joe, I would not be here today enjoying my life and seeing my grandchildren born (ages 1,2,3). I am blessed in many ways with such a wonderful doctor and his staff. God Bless Dr. Joe !

I have seen Dr. Burick for over 20 years. He is one of the kindest & caring person/Dr. I know. He listens to you, takes the time & you really feel like he listens to you. I have been to an appointment to see him jumping in the back of an ambulance to go to the hospital with a patient. I also have noticed that Dr. Burick has had a lot of heartache In the past years & I feel like he needs to take care of himself more.

Dr. Burick is a great doctor and it saddens me that he is leaving Summa Care.

Dr. Joe has been my family's physician for the past 18 years. I consider Dr. Joe an "Old School" doctor because he genuinely cares about his patients and loves the practice of medicine. He is the kind of physician that takes time to ask questions and listens to your medical complaint before diagnosing the problem. His diagnoses and therapy of treatment is almost always accurate and he is willing to admit if he does not know the reason for your condition. He is always attentive, compassionate, understanding and honest. In my opinion, Dr. Joe is a all around good man, one of God's chosen, and I thank him for all the years he has helped to keep me and my family healthy.

Dr Joe is one of the BEST DOCTORS I have ever known, My only problem is the OFFICE STAFF if you upset them in any way or you become a bother to them trying to fix something that is wrong they will tell BURICK a huge LIE that you said or did something (EVEN THOUGH YOU DID NOT DO OR SAY ANYTHING) to get you REMOVED FROM HIS PRATICE no matter how long you have been a patient with him. He asks NO QUESTIONS FROM YOU TO AS WHAT WENT ON he just sides with them that what they are telling him is true. So be very careful NOT TO UPSET HIS STAFF because he will drop you as a patient no questions asked. This is the only BAD THING ABOUT GOING TO HIM.

My family is beyond blessed to have Dr Joe as our doctor!! God broke the mold when he made this wonderful caring man. Just one visit with him and you will see that he is the last of his kind of doctors. I hope you are able to witness his true compassion for his patients!!

Dr Joe has been my Dr. since the 1980's. He listens and he refers you to the right people if need be. He is a Doctor you can trust. No 1!!
