He’s wonderful and an amazing Provider to have on your team during a surgery! He’s my reconstruction/plastic surgeon at USC , and I am so grateful for him and his wonderful team. Dr. Carey has made my journey so much more easier and he so truly cares! I didn’t make an appt and two weeks later when I met with him, he said “ I wondered what happened to you and why you didn’t show!” . It shows he really does know his patients and cares ! I love it! He truly is amazing, thank you Dr. Carey for everything you have done for me. I wish you and your team all the best!

I still do not have words to thank to Jehova for sending me with Dr. Carey. I am so grateful with Dr. Carey because after 9 months with dealing with my problem he was the only one that found the way to bring my hand back to life. Thank you Dr. Carey for being such a great Doctor and to all those that are a part of your team. And without a doubt thank you to USC's Keck Medical Center because it was the first time I was treated with such great professionalism. And to finalize I would without a doubt I would recommend Dr. Carey and USC Keck Medical Center to anyone and may Jehova bless you guys.

There were complications with both procedures. Dr. Carey assured me that there were no nerve risks for the small lipoma removal. I lost feeling on the left side of my forehead for 6 months. 15 months later I have 50% feeling and a tingling sensation that occasionally radiates down my forehead. I had neuropathy at 2 months and had to take sleeping pills. The melanoma excision had poor margins in the center, according to 4 other double board certified PS. It became infected after 6 weeks and had to be drained and debrided. I have a 2 inch raised, irregular scar that needs to be revised. Dr. Carey has a good bedside manner, but I was disappointed in his surgical skills. There was nothing aesthetic about the melanoma excision. The PDS sutures he used have still not dissolved after 15 months. I'm sorry that I cannot recommend him for facial surgery, although I am grateful that he removed a low grade melanoma.
