It’s my pleasure to tell you a little about myself and my passion for dentistry.
I’ve dreamed of being a dentist since the age of eight. I grew up in Lake Carmel, a small suburb of New York City. As the youngest of six children in a loving Italian family, my siblings and I are the first generation of Cariellos to attend college.
I graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany with my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and went on to complete my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2000 at SUNY Buffalo. During my time in Buffalo I married my wife, Carrie, and worked as an associate for a wonderful dentist, Dr. Stanley Scott. Under his guidance, I learned to manage staff and create long-term relationships with my patients.
Carrie and I had our first three sons in Buffalo; Joseph, Jack, and Charlie. We were very content as new parents in a wonderful city. However, with small children we realized the importance of being closer …to extended family and we began to explore other areas to settle.
In 2006 we visited my brother in New Hampshire for Thanksgiving, and immediately fell in love with the Amherst area. After careful consideration, I purchased this practice and in the spring of 2007 we said a heartfelt good-bye to Buffalo.
At last I began the exciting endeavor of building the dental practice I had been dreaming about since I was an 8-year old boy visiting my hometown dentist. At Dovetail, I want to make every patient feel as I did years ago in the dental chair – like you are the only patient I have.
The summer after we moved to New Hampshire our daughter Rose was born, and our youngest son Henry followed 18 months later. My pride with Dovetail Dental is second only to the delight in my beautiful family of five children; Joey (8) Jack (7), Charlie (5) Rose (4) and Henry (2).
As your dentist my first priority is your oral health and well-being. I have the best team in New Hampshire, and we work to stay on top of the latest technological developments in the industry while providing the hometown care you deserve.
