Dr. Joseph Gene Carter, MD

Takes care of me. He's as good as they get.

I am diabetic II and have been under the care of Dr Carter since he took over for Dr McNeff about 5 years ago. The reception I get is always cheerful and his medical advice is presented to me in a matter of fact way that makes me want to listen. He has referred me to specialists several times, recently for a cancer scare that required removal of 2 tumors. He had me in for a scan the day after my office visit for diabetic checkup revealed the masses. I can't understand why some reviewers have downrated the good doctor for perceived rudeness by his front office. Whenever I deal with the front office they treat me professionally and medical billing and logistical matters are dealt with efficiently. Maybe the front office gets 4 stars instead of 5 but the doctor earns 5 stars from me, hands down.

Today was my first visit. The doctor and his nurse were great with my two year old and they were both very friendly. As for the office staff not so nice. I don't know where customer service has gone,but it is almost non existent at this office. If the office staff were more friendly then my visit would have been perfect.

No language barrier here. Speaks clearly. Patient. I am bi-polar. I tend to ramble and I lack concentration. Dr. Carter and his staff, Johnny in particular, have gone through my bag of medications and taken the time to discuss each medication with me. I do not feel rushed and even when I forget to mention something Dr. Carter immediately returns to answer any other questions I have. My family has a long history with T&R Clinic and the Clinic itself is fair and reasonable. As a NEW patient to Dr. Carter, I have not had any experience with "after visit follow up". As for "promptness" well, wouldn't we all like to walk in and be seen immediately. I did have to wait a couple of days after leaving the Emergency Room to be seen because I went into the E/R on a Friday and the office is closed after 12 on Saturdays and Sundays.

I would not recommend Dr.Carter or T and R Clinic. My first visit will be my last.
