Dr. Joseph Frank Chesky, MD

I was a very senior Navy enlisted (now Veteran) who had the misfortune of being in Medical Hold status at a command in San Diego (2010 timeframe) in which Captain(at the time) Chesky was brought in as a temporary master of none MD to fill a gap in position as a resident MD for a population of Reservists who were wounded, injured, or became ill while mobilized and were in transition to return to service or be discharged medically. He replaced a contracted civilian MD(endocrinologist) that was unceremoniously fired by the Navy for ordering relatively expensive endocrinology tests and performing subsequent treatment on dozens of us who had unexplained low testosterone and high levels of estrogen upon return from deployment to the middle east. Capt. Chesky, who is not an Endocrinologist, but was a military uniformed Medical Doctor with clear marching orders to cover things up, subsequently overuled and removed long standing diagnosed ailments and stopped treatments within weeks of taking… over. His appointments were short, one sided, oblivious to facts or current and previous symptoms. His limited knowledge of endocrinology was glaring but it was also apparent that it was his goal to determine that every patient he saw was somehow malingering. I experienced personally and spoke with numerous fellow patients who were under my charge (I was the Senior Enlisted Khaki uniformed member) complain daily about his abusive nature. I complained to the Chain of Command about what I both witnessed and experienced. This behavior went on unabated. Soon after my discharge, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease via blood tests. The endocrinologist who saw me before Chesky unforrunately became my PCM had diagnosed me with Hypothyroidism. He was fired before the blood tests returned that would have likely confirmed Hashimoto's disease. I have lived with this disease with daily medication for over a decade since. I have had to battle the VA for disabilities associated with this as they utilized his written notes stating I was "misdiagnosed" with hypothyroidism and hypogonadism by the endocrinologist. His personal lack of attention to my case and to my valid symptoms have led to years of distress upon my body and other stressors die to an unnecessary battle with the VA benefits system. I know there are other veterans out there who were mistreated and provided a major disservice by this incompetent physician. I am pleased to hear he no longer has access to Active Duty Members. I hope he is never hired by the VA as a moonlighting physician.

CAPT Joseph Chesky USN has not practiced clinical medicine since 2017 having retired at that time- posts from 2018,2019,2020 are fraudulent since Dr. chesky has been retired from civilian practice. He has served as a consultant to the US navy from 2017- his retirement on May 21,2020 following 36 years of military service- hisghly suggest you check your sources better before trying to discredit a highly decorated senior military officer

This ignorant, bigoted, Self-righteous, racist and emotionally immature “Navy Physician” should be evaluated and reprimand by the US Navy. I overheard him refer to me as a fat, lazy “N-word” right outside my exam room. Staff are afraid of him, it is obvious. He is a disgrace to anyone truly serving our beloved country as he lies about his military service to unsuspecting individuals. It is well known around Barksdale AF base that he was abruptly fired because of all his abusive treatment of everyone in contact with him. He lies and says his contract ended! Not do. I handled paperwork regarding this decision. He is severely mentally unstable. If anyone reading this that has any pull in the military, please request a psychological evaluation on this man. He manipulates and abuses any self-serving benefits proclaiming his superiority to the rest of the population. And, I agree with another post. I heard my nurse say he brags about posting his own positive reviews. Everyone,… professional and personal need to avoid this unstable man for their own safety and careless medical mis-management. I saw him at the air force base and was horrified. BEWARE all!

This emotionally unstable "physician" has severe psychological issues and is emotionally unstable. Nasty and abusive to underprivileged, minorities and struggling women. Sexually and racially diacrimative. A bad seed and a disgrace to the medical profession. He has immense ego issues that blurr objective health care. A abusie and dangerous man.

Dr. Chesky is emotionally unstable and has absolutely no empathy. He has no right being anywhere near patients and uses profanity to patients and staff alike.

Superb Physician who reminds me of my old family physician. he took the time to explain my condition and put me at ease. Because of HIS intervention, I recovered quickly and would recommend him to anyone. he is one of the last Old school docs that truly is interested in patients as a people and not merely numbers.

I have been using Navy Medicine my whole adult life. I am extremely impressed with Dr. Cheskys all-inclusive examination. Dr. Chesky ensured my comprehension of all test and procedures performed, including clarification of what other specialist was indicating to me. His wide-range of knowledge and thorough participation in my medical care prevented unnecessary procedures and that I received the care I truly needed in a timely manner so that I could return to work and my family.
