Go to someone else. It felt like he was really condescending the entire time, and he kept trying to push me to let him do what he thought was best for me instead of what I was asking for, despite not being unreasonable in what I was requesting. Feels like he cares more about his own ego rather than what would make the patient feel best in their own skin. Go to a surgeon that makes you feel heard and actually wants to work with you for YOUR best results instead of talking down to you like a child who doesn't know what's good for them.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS SURGEON! I had a breast reduction, because my breasts have been large my entire life and at this point they were so heavy and down to my belly button. I explained over and over that I didn't want to come out of surgery with tiny breasts. We discussed a full C or a D cup was what we agreed upon. I also had to have a nipple graft which he said would look just like a normal nipple but have no feeling. I woke up from surgery devastated! I looked down my gown and couldn't even see any breasts! I called Dr chun hysterical and he said yea I had to take more tissue than I thought but I will fix it once you are healed. My breasts are so small I have zero cleavage and don't even need a bra! My nipples are completely flat and he just said yea there's no way to fix that.THEN I got an infection from the surgery!! My wound opened up and yellow liquid was leaking in the floor of his office and drenched my clothes for days! He finally did a 2nd surgery to clean the infection and… said I had mrsa!! I then had 2 allergic reactions to the antibiotics and ended up in the ER because he told me to continue to take them !!!! After all that cleared up and I said now after 3 months can u give me implants to fix my breasts?! He said my questions weren't correct and I needed to read his pamphlets. He didn't send in for it o be medically necessary for my implants so insurance denied them . So he got away with totally screwing up my breasts and I have to pay 6000 dollars to get implants which is never what I wanted. This has been the worst nightmare I have ever been through!

I’m a bit confused by some the negative comments. I did not find the comments indicative of my experience at all. Dr. Chun was pleasant, professional and was gifted with my breast surgery. I interviewed numerous plastic surgeons in the area and I found that Dr. Chun would provide me with the best results and he did!!! My incisions after simply a week are healing wonderfully. I know I will have minimal scarring. He continual asked if I had any questions throughout the process and was caring as surgeon.

I only asked 1 thing from Dr Chun before my double mastectomy. I did not want to be bigger.( He had told me he could not go smaller blaming my previous surgeons method for augmentation 8 years prior. ) I woke up to huge breasts that reached into my armpits! I was devastated! I was emotional and scared and Dr Chun basically brushed it off saying, “I don’t deal with this emotional breakdown, I only do the surgery” . After waiting a stressful embarrassing year to get them revised, Dr Chun left me with a grotesquely disfigured right breast. I changed doctors and due to Dr Chun’s mess I was now a “challenging case” and will likely be left with disfigurement forever.

Dr Chun has a huge ego and really does not care about his patience. His patients are referred to him by a local breast cancers surgeon so he has no incentive to provide excellent care or good outcomes for breast cancer patients. Dr Chun left me emotionally damaged as well as a deformed breast which had to be corrected by another surgeon who actually cared. If you are referred to Dr Chun please please get a second third and even fourth opinion before allowing this terrible doctor to touch you! Dr Chun is condescending and used the easiest procedures for him instead of the correct procedures for the patient. Worst experience of my life physically and emotionally.

As painful as a breast reduction is... I would do it again tomorrow if needed. I'm only a week out. The experience with DR Chun and staff has been FABULOUS. ð???

Dr Chunn was a very rude and arrogant man cared nothing about me that I had lost over 80 lbs his response was " but you still really big" I had no other choice but to use him as my surgeon for a pennictomy because of my insurance. He did a good job surgery wise but is not very friendly makes you feel like your scum and he doesn't want to touch you almost like you have the plague. After I left the first consolation I was in tears. I was doing good the first 3 weeks after surgery but then I started running a low grade fever and feeling horrible I told the nurse and dr Chunn about this the nurse came in took my temp with one of those rolling thermometers that goes acrossed ur forehead and it said it was normal so I went home he just brushed it off well a week later I was leaking/ draining around several areas of my incisions and I thought I was going to die. Running temp of 102.8 so I finally called back and they called me in antibiotics and I started feeling better but my incisions are… still leaking and he says that's normal and I don't think so. No bedside manner at all.

Dr. Chun is a God Send! Due to a diagnosis of breast cancer I had a bilateral mastectomy in 2012 with immediate reconstruction. I healed quickly and the scars are hardly even visible 3 years later. Dr. Chun is absolutely top notch as far as making sure to explain all steps of the procedure prior to surgery. I just saw him today for my annual follow-up and I think the world of him! As I said ... He is a God send!

I could not have asked for a better doctor when I had breast cancer and reconstructive surgery! He was caring, as was his nurse/wife, Maureen, and the staff, spent time with me and explained every aspect more than sufficiently. I have nothing but respect for Dr. Joseph T. Chun of UT!!

I have found Dr. Chun to be very knowledgable and proficient. He has always been pleasant and kind, as has his staff. I have recommended several family and friends to him, and will not hesistate in continuing to do so.
