Dr. Joseph Michael Cohn, MD

Dr. COHN was my orthopedic doctor many years in Fredericksburg. He performed a knee replacement, surgeries on both shoulders, my left forearm, right thumb, and left wrist. I have never had a problem with any of my surgeries. He was always compassionate, and explained everything in detail in plain layman terms that were easy to understand. I had him as my doctor until he left Fredericksburg and if he moved back I would go back to him. I had 100% complete confidence in him.

He did a poor job on my knee replacement, acted like he did not know what he was doing or acting dumb on his mess up. 11 month later a second Dr redid it, fell great now. But now I don’t have a second chance to redo when it wears down. Cohn left me as a cripple.

I went in to see Dr. Cohn thinking I was going to have to have surgery. He listened to all of my symptoms and came up with a more conservative plan to treat my knee pain. I was glad he didn't rush to operate on me. I am back to running again with no issues!

Dr. Cohn explained my procedure in full detail. He answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. I am so thankful that I finally found a doctor who will listen

Dr Cohn treated me in Fredericksburg and performed a lateral release. After 10 months and more pain he said he could make me better by performing another. Post op his partner performed xrays out of concern on how the procedure went. Why his partner? Because he was in rehab. He has ruined my knee beyond repair due to his sloppiness my vascularity is barely capable of supporting my knee replacement. He ruined me physically and has done so to many others. I’m astounded they gave him his license back recently after 10 yrs of alcoholic abuse and complaints. Please rethink your choice before letting him hack on you.

"Dr." Cohn repaired my broken shoulder with a plate and screws. On my final visit with him he took an X-ray in his office. He saw a portion of bone at the top of the ball sticking up. He said to me,"As your bone healed it "overgrew". His plan was to go back in, remove the plate and screws he put in, grind down that piece of bone and put a new plate at that new spot. I had such an awful time after the original surgery that I left his office tears imagining the next surgery he proposed. I made an appointment with another doctor who didn't want to take me as a patient because he was "Dr."Cohn's chief of staff. The second doctor referred me to a doctor in San Antonio who took one look at my X-ray and said,"That is NOT bone overgrowth, it is a piece of bone that did not stay where "Dr." Cohn put it. Now, either "Dr." Cohn cannot read an X-ray , or he LIED to me to cover his poor work. Neither one is acceptable to me. I am crippled now and cannot raise my arm higher than my chest, reach… the top of my head or get dishes down from the cabinet. He has since had his license suspended for alcohol abuse. I wish other doctors and the hospital had not covered for him. My new doctor says if it slips anymore I am looking at a major surgery to replace my shoulder. Wish I had never been given him as my doctor .

Dr. Cohn operated on our daughter. I have never met a doctor that spent more time explaining the surgery - both pre and post-sugery, than he did. His warm personality eased the initial nervousness my daughter had. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohn.

DO YOU WANT TO BE BETTER AND YOURSELF AGAIN? LET ME TELL U WHO CAN HELP YOU! Dr. Cohn he is the BEST! He has done my foot, my total hip replacement, both my wrists for carpal tunnel. He has help me with injections for bursitis in my right hip. I am telling u He is the BEST! With the Lord and Dr Cohn you will be better!

I went to Dr. Cohn as a third opinion after two doctors said nothing could be done but replacement. Thank goodness you don't believe everything you read on the Internet. Contrary to some reviews, I found him to be genuinely concerned with my knee problem. He explained every option with pros and cons in detail. He recommended non operative treatment and encouraged me to try everything before surgery.
