Dr. Joseph Derosa, MD

Dr. DeRosa has been my family doctor for over 5 years. He has been very diligent in the areas of referrals to specialists, following up with each of us after an illness or problem, and he is one of the most plesaant doctors, with a cheerful staff and really competent nurse, that I have seen. I have had several health emergencies and 4 or 5 surgeries, 1 a total emergency and 2 that were somewhat urgent. I always saw or talked to Dr. DeRosa or the after hours physician on call before making a decision about calling an ambulance, going to the ER, or waiting it out. The right call was always made, and I believe one of the after-hours physcicians' at his office strong suggestion that I call an ambulance saved my life last year. I mention the after-hours responses because I believe a family doctor has a right to private weekends with his family on a regular basis, but that does not mean I don't want help available if I have an urgent problem on the weekend. Milestone Family Medicine and… Dr. DeRosa seem to have their bases covered in that area. I have also learned the importance of developing a relationship with a family dr who is at least somewhat familiar with my background and stays in touch with specialists I see on a regular basis. Dr. DeRosa excells in that area too. Wow, as I read this, I realize that I need to go back and give Dr. DeRosa a solid and complete 5-star rating. I have lived in Greenville for 11 years, and most of my physician-client relationships have been mediocre at best. I find that almost all doctors and dentists in this area take Fridays off, and are only available for about 32 hours of each week. That makes the emergency services at each office really important. Dial up most doctors offices after hours and you get a recording telling you they are closed and you should call 911. I don't know if DeRosa is accepting new patients or not. He probably is, as he appears to be quite young. If you can get in to see him, I recommend him without hesitation.

I have been going to Dr. DeRosa for many years and he has always been patient, kind and willing to listen. His staff is always so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and have recommended this doctor to anyone who is looking for a wonderful doctor!

Dr. Derosa has been accurate each time he has treated me. He spends time with me and doesn't treat me like a sick person when he is with me. That is one of the first things I noticed - he shakes my hand each time I see him. The last time I had the flu! He follows up and makes sure that I feel comfortable in calling back if I need to do so.
