Dr. Joseph Benton Dupont, MD

Dr. DuPont is an incredible doctor. He is totally focused on his patients. He listens, diagnoses, and quickly schedules and/or performs the procedures needed to insure his patient’s best hope for recovery. His staff is just like him. They are totally professional, efficient, and at the same time kind and caring. One of the best aspects of dealing with Dr. DuPont’s office is when you call, a real person always answers the phone. I love it.

Very dedicated, ethical, exellent knoweledge, acurate diagnostic, in one word: The BEST!

I was sent to Dr. Dupont for a surgical consultation after it was discovered via ultrasound that I had a very large gallstone. I was called that morning and asked to change my appointment to 10 am, from 2:30 pm which I agreed to. I filled out the paperwork and waited, only a short time before going to an exam room. What I can assume was a surgical resident/ intern came in got some history, listened to my lungs and palpated my belly...al pretty routine. He said that Dr. Dupont would come in shortly. After more than 30 minutes he entered and pretty much disregarded the problem I was there for. Said that it was obvious that I had reflux and wanted to order an upper GI...which I do not need, as my GP has already said reflux is not an issue. He then was cruel to me about my weight saying that Im taking 20 + years off of my life, and that I need to stop eating butter, red meat, sugar. He then asked me about my diet which is honestly not horrible....but not his business. He gave me an RX for… a medication for IBD, which I do not have...and that you are not suppose to take with antidepressants, beta blockers OR with gallbladder issues, all of which are issues for me. He also did something that made me feel very violated. He took it upon himself to unbutton and unzip my pants to look at my c section scar. I have no idea what the point of that was, it was not an area of complaint and was not something I felt comfortable with. I left in tears and called my doctors office and they quickly set up another consultation with another doctor, and I informed them that I would not let that man touch me with a 10 foot pole. I would not recommend this man to anyone.

I went in to get a mass removed. He wanted to do it in the office in his minor surgery room. I was very apprehensive about not being put to sleep but I went ahead and trusted Dr. Dupont's recommendation. This procedure was awful. I was not completely numb and ended up feeling a lot of the pain. Not only was it painful but very uncomfortable. I felt no compassion from Dr. DuPont at all. His bedside manors are horrible. He acted as though cutting on my breast was no big deal and I should just take it like a man! I was told I'd be sent home with pain medication before my procedure but after he was done they didn't send me home with anything. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone!

Dr. Dupont installed a port for chemo to someone dear to me recently.When he did he cut a major vein going to his shoulder causing his shoulder to droop. Not good! He was also my husband's surgeon and did a very good job that time but his bedside manner to my husband and I was very short.
