Has been our family dentist for nearly 15 years! A great dentist and very funny!

First of all, I love this dentist!!!! He uses nitrous oxide (laughing gas). This immediately makes everything more comfortable. Dr. Elkins provides compassionate and effective treatment. This is invaluable when you are scared and in pain!!!! I feel so fortunate to have found him after my long time, beloved dentist Dr. Reggie Gaddis retired! I pray Dr. Elklins does not want to retire anytime soon!!!! He is top notch. Wonderful Dentist!! I tell everyone looking for a dentist, go see Dr. Elkins!!!

Dr. Elkins is top notch. I used to switch dentists until I found him! He and his staff always do a perfect job. They are always welcoming, and are as gentle as they are thorough with their cleanings. Additionally, they truly care about you, and give insightful personalized tips to maintain good cleaning habits. Listen to them! Also, they pulled out a wisdom tooth of mine, and conduct all of my routine cleanings. They have my trust for life. They are angels!

Dr. Elkins was first dentist on my insurance list who used nitrous oxide (laughing gas)when I had an impossible to sleep at night toothache within 6 weeks of moving to Chattanooga. He is wonderful!! I called after lunch and was fitted into his schedule within 30 minutes. I had an abcessed tooth and he squeezed in a root canal and temporary filling into his busy afternoon! Dr. Elkins is not really a chatty person. He talks and explains what he's doing but when he was working with the syringe, drill or other instruments he wasn't chattering but was focusing on his work in my mouth!!! I really appreciated this! At the end of my emergency root canal, I asked and he explained what he'd done, why he'd done it, and what the next steps were. I really really like him and will be using him again even when it is not an emergency.

Substandard work on crowns,rough treatment and fails to give complete information on insurance coverage and costs. Insists on preforming most expensive work and has no regard to what patient is able to pay and office manager is rude and will not work pmt plan out. Does not stand behind his work and will not make any needed adjustments.

Worst dentist ever! Burned my gums so badly with laser it required extra healing time before he could put in my permanent fixtures. He said he would call me when it was time to put them in so ins would cover and I would be fully healed. His call never came and his bill got turned over to collections immediately and quickly escalated to garnishment of my wages. This never should have come to be considering I have amazing insurance. The lack of communication and compassion in this office is now costing me thousands. Beware. The end result is even more dental work has to be done to fix his sloppy and questionionable unfinished work.
