Dr. Joseph Harry Fillmore, MD

I have taken my elderly mother to Dr. Fillmore over the past few years. I found all aspects of his care and his office staff's treatment of my mom to be very good. I have recommended Dr. Fillmore to many friends and coworkers. The derogatory comment below couldn't be further from the truth. It is hurtful and slanderous. Hiding behind anonymity while accusing a physician of making "mistakes" and being a "space case" should not be allowed on this site.

I’ve been seeing Dr Fillmore for arew years for chronic migraines and degenerative spinal issues. He is very friendly and very good at what he does. He diagnosed and solved the issue I had with my neck and I no longer have to live with the constant pain. I have been to well over a dozen doctors over the years and finally found the one that actually helped me. He is very fair, kind and upfront. After reading some of the other reviews here, it is clear that the negative reviews are from patients that failed their drug screenings, because they don’t fit his personality or professionalism at all. I highly recommend him to solve ACTUAL problems and not peddle drugs to addicts.

I have been a patient with Dr. Fillmore for years. I have chronic pain and he has always been compassionate, insightful and on time. I was shocked by the review below as this is not my experience with him. He always asks if there is anything else he can do for me. He is upfront and honest if there are things I deal with he cannot help me with but is always willing to refer for a second opinion. His office staff is helpful and very friendly.

He’s a total space case. Doesn’t care how much pain your in. He’s willing to give you any pain meds you want but when your complaining about certain areas of pain he offers no solutions. And he’s always rude. ALWAYS RUDE. He needs to retire as well as he almost totally messed up my meds on many occasions.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fillmore's off and on for many years. I am confident in saying he is one of the most knowledgeable spinal physicians I have ever seen. I have seen many. His professionalism, integrity and respectful demeanor are qualities we all look for when our health is in question. Sam, his assistant is very kind and helpful and really tries to create a comfortable environment during office appointments. My experience with Dr. Fillmore and all of his staff has been very positive and I would recommend him highly.

I was referred to Dr. Fillmore for an EMG test. I have a lot of unexplained neck and shoulder pain. I had heard the test were quite painful, but Dr. Fillmore made it bearable. He has a great demeanor, and I was put at ease immediately. And I trust his results. My test were negative for nerve damage and I couldn't be happier! His staff is efficient, professional and very helpful, very nice office. I highly recommend

It took nearly 6 weeks to get in to see him and book of questions to answer beforehand. He had my medical history including my medication regimen but kept asking me "are you the one who...?" no, I am not. "Are you the one who..."?No, I'm not. WHAT'S ALL THE CONFUSION??? You are holding my medical history, new patient questionnaire including NEW ex-ray and MRI results in your hand! This "doctor" claims to be a pain specialist but he wrote prescriptions only because another doctor wrote for the same prescriptions which were ineffective for me and why I stopped seeing him, which I told him. What happened to treating patients as individuals? Fillmore didn't know what to write for so he copied another doctors choice of medications which he admitted to me to my horror and wrote for the same. Fillmore then called me from out of the blue to offer to write prescriptions for the medications that I was on successfully for over 5 years in another state. Fillmore had me come pick up the… two prescriptions and when I got to the pharmacy, I see that he didn't sign one of the two prescriptions, then told the pharmacy not to fill the other one because "he was uncomfortable writing it" as if I held a gun to his head and made him write it. HE CALLED ME!!! My entire relationship with his office was a very irritating game and the man definitely needs to retire because something is really off with him. HE COULDN'T MAKE DECISIONS, KEEP HIS OR MY FACTS STRAIGHT, HE APPEARED CONFUSED, HE WAS VERY CLOSED MINDED, HE WENT THROUGH MY PERSONAL PAPERWORK (so I had to grab the stack from him), HE TALKED NEGATIVELY TOWARD OTHER FACILITIES, HE DOESN'T LISTEN, HE WAS WRONG WITH DIAGNOSIS', THEN HE TRIED TO BLAME ME FOR HIS OWN ACTIONS AND TRIED TO MAKE ME LOOK BAD WITH THE PHARMACY WHEN HE WAS TO BLAME FOR ALL THE MISTAKES HE MADE YET COULDN'T ADMIT. ALL THIS DRAMA TOOK PLACE FOR ONE OFFICE VISIT AND ONE VISIT TO PICK UP PRESCRIPTIONS THAT COULDN'T BE FILLED. UNBELIEVABLE! SUCH A WASTE OF MY VALUABLE TIME!!!

New patient with recent exrays, MRI's, Medical History, Diagnosis', Letter from my previous Specialists as per medication regimen but Dr. Fillmore refused to write for the same medications that I have been on for the past five years. It is very important not to change or abruptly stop medications but he thought he knows what's best for me after one visit and changed my meds. This is unacceptable and as a physician, he should know better!
