Dr. Joseph Rochman Furman, MD

Dr. Furman received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and a medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He went on to complete an internship and residency in pediatrics and a second residency in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Furman did his fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology and critical care at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Since moving back to San Antonio in 1988, Dr. Furman has worked in private practice with STAR Anesthesia, P.A., Pediatric Anesthesia Associates and, since 2005, with Pediatric Anesthesia Consultants at Methodist Children's Hospital. Dr. Furman is board certified in pediatrics, anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology. He is also a member of a number of professional societies, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Texas Medical Association, Texas Society of Anesthesiology and Society of Pediatric Anesthesia.
