Excellent doctor. That said, terrible wait times. Cancelled appointment by them. Rescheduled. Next time went in and advised there was over 2 hr wait, rescheduled but next time forgot to call to tell me no doctor available. Today was last straw. Waited over an hr in waiting area with everyone sneezing and coughing before giving up. We travel 45 minutes one way. NOT my nature to complain but had to.

overbooks and long wait time

I take very strong exception to the unfavorable reviews of the quality of care at Mohawk Valley Retina. Dr. Gale in particular is an excellent doctor who, along with his extremely competent staff, has provided me with the best possible treatment. Perhaps the wait times are a little long on occasion because so many people want to be patients at this outstanding practice. Also, MVR receives emergency cases that require immediate attention. It annoys me that people with nothing but time on their hands complain about having to sit and wait for a while. More than likely, the more strident complainers just sit around and do nothing when they do return home.

Dr. Gale overbooks. Waiting room was packed with overflow into another waiting room. All older people and conditions were not healthy for anyone. Waiting time was over an hour plus added waiting time after being called into the examining room. No one explained any testing that was done or why it was being done. He was very short in his comments and did not spend time answering questions. In fact, it felt like he was annoyed that questions were being asked. He made no diagnosis and sent a staff member in after last testing to schedule a follow-up in a couple of months. All and all, I would not recommend him to anyone.

My sister had an 8:30am appt., and it was over an hour before she was called into the inner office. We waited another hour before seeing the doctor, who saw her for five minutes or less. My impression...he did not seem to like me asking questions, was very short with anwsers, and said he would come back to see us a second time after my sister had another test done. He did not come back in, but sent office staff to tell her the results of the last test. Therefore, there was no chance to further discuss the eye problem or ask any more questions about the last test or previous tests. The office was packed, when we arrived at 8:30am and when we left, there were people standing in the waiting room!! (I believe there were two doctors working that morning.) Overbooked??? I feel my sister was short changed on this appt., and I would not go there myself to have any eye problem addressed.
