Absolutely the best experience . I needed a Root canal and was extremely fearful. Dr. Gelo took all my fears away with his side chair manner. He explained the process thoroughly. I am no longer afraid of Root Canals.

Dr. Gelo does not listen to his clients nor does he take the time to read their files. I came in needing two root canals. Half my face was swollen as two teeth were abscessed. Everyone knows that you can't numb infection, but Dr. Gelo insisted and sure enough, he could not get the area numb and he left me with tears rolling down my face as he inserted the numbing needle time and time again with me nearly screaming to have him stop, but with no numbing relief. Finally, Dr. Gelo agreed that an antibiotic would be needed to reduce the infection and swelling to hopefully be able to numb the area to work on my teeth in a few days. It clearly stated in my file at Aloha Dental from years previous and the same day I was in the dental office, updating my records, that I am allergic to anti-inflammatory medications and I break out with canker sores, become dizzy, and experience stomach pain similar to ulcers. But Dr. Gelo stated that it would be better to break out with some canker sores than… have swelling. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly do not think a medical professional would EVER tell anyone to go ahead and have an allergic reaction. The proof that I needed something for pain was clear on my face and from the Xrays. Yet Dr. Gelo refused to help me with the pain, and wrote a script for ALEVE. Are you serious? I can get Aleve over the counter, yet it falls in the anti-inflammatory medications category that consistently causes me an allergic reaction. I am disgusted with his lack of professionalism and his inability to actually listen to his clients and read their files, this is just plain negligence. For the record, I was absolutely not pain pill shopping, I clearly had some major trauma going on, and I HATE that due to people abusing pain meds, that those who need it, can't get assistance. I would not recommend this dentist. When he was trying to numb my teeth, the places he was inserting the numbing needle were NOT in places that I am familiar with, from my experience when having other root canals in similar areas. I still am amazed this dentist recommended that I should have an allergic reaction, rather than helping the patient with pain relief.

Friendly, down to earth and efficient

I had two root canals done by Dr Gelo and not feel any pain while getting injected and even when the numbness went away my mouth if using throbbing after any dental procedures ... What more can I say he's simply the best dentist I ever been there I'm so glad to finally have dentist my family And I can trust!! He's extremely kindhearted and resourceful.
