I was very happy with my first appointment even though I was apprehensive. Had cataract surgery over a six week period and it was more than I hoped for.

While Dr Gira and his office services are in network, the Anesthesia services are not, but they do not tell you this so be sure to check. Also everyone is so rushed that, while Dr. Gira may be a great doctor, the office visits are very rushed.

I have received two surgeries from Dr. Gira outside of the St. Louis area. He personally called us and checked-in and provided information. He also thoroughly answered all of our questions and calmed all our fears. He is a very personable doctor whom adds in humor.

My husband had cateract surgery on both eyes by Dr Gira. He was very efficient, professional & explained every step and method that was going to happen. His staff is also amazing! Extremely helpful and caring. They answer every question or concern you have & go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. My husband’s far-sighted AND near-sighted vision has improved immensely! We would recommend Dr Gira & his great staff to everyone we know (and don’t know! Ha)

Dr. Gira performed lens implant surgery on both of my eyes in November of this year. I am impressed with his skill, professionalism and bed side manner. The surgery went smoothly and I am very pleased that I chose Dr. Gira. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Gira was recommended through Clarkson eye Care. Dr. Gira performed my cateract surgery on both eyes. The result was highly satisfactory. Dr. Gira really went above and beyond to make sure I had the vision I wanted.

Was told I was a "perfect candidate" for upgraded lenses - out of pocket $7,000.00. Would only need readers for very tiny print. Never saw the surgeon at any visit after surgeries. Although I kept saying I couldn't see clearly, went undiagnosed with a serious complication for six months afterwards until I went to another dr. My end result is that I am out $7,000 and wearing tri-focal glasses to be able to see.

Dr. Gira and staff pressured my relative into purchasing an expensive intra ocular lens (IOL) upgrade for her cataract surgery. Luckily we got a second opinion that said that the expensive (about $3000) upgrade was totally unnecessary and got the money back. This is a common practice to pressure elderly into buying something they don't need. BEWARE!!
