Dr. Joseph Anthony Guarino, MD

I was forced to see Dr. Guarino for my long term disability. I have had 3 back surgeries and live in constant pain. His office was located in a half-abandoned strip mall and looked more like an auto parts store than a doctor's office. In addition to being the rudest doctor I have ever seen, not once did he even ask me about my pain, or the depression & anxiety that come with long term chronic pain. In his report, he jumped to the extraordinary conclusion that because I was able to sit for 1 - 2 hrs, I would be able to work a full-time sedentary job as long as I take a 5-minute break every once in a while. This is totally untrue and unsupported given the very short office visit. The longer I sit, the more my pain increases. Even if I could make it thru one day, doing it day after day is impossible. How he came to his conclusion, I have no idea. I suspect that the more he gives insurance companies what they want, the more business he gets. As a result of his "medical review", I lost my… disability. My doctors who see me on a regular basis, disagree with his findings and I am in the process of preparing an appeal.

Sad the way he treats patients

The office was very clean and the staff was very nice. The doctor came in and was straight forward and to the point. i will use them again

Very rude staff, will never go back. The doctor was not friendly. The nurse was cold.

GREAT STAFF

I have to use this Doctor because of work and I find him and his office help to be very rude. I have had him look at my leg so I could return to work and twice after checking my leg out and just before leaving the room he stops looks at me and goes did I look at the correct Leg. " my leg hurt in a sport accident" My average wait time for him to see me and my visit in waiting room is less than ten minutes because he does not have any other patients. Have had to visit him more than 5 times.

My 18 month old daughter had a bad cold. First, they wouldn't let my husband back with us. They said only one parent is allowed back. This is not acceptable to me. Both parents should be allowed to participate in their child's care. I was asked to restrain my daughter in a forceful way so he could check her ears and mouth. Then when I let my daughter down to walk, he told me to pick her up and not let her touch anything (she was touching his little round chair). He is a rude, unprofessional man and I would not recommend him to anyone!
