Dr. Joseph Edward Haas, MD

The first visit was awful. He yelled at me, I left more upset than when I went there with depression and anxiety. I gave him the benefit of seeing me again because under my insurance, it is hard to find a psychiatrist. My following last 3 sessions have gone much better.

Office staff is obviously unskilled in courtesy and office procedure. I called once. Was told to fill out and return the new patient information. I did. No call was forthcoming. I called the second time. Was told the same thing. Filled out all 17 pages of the new patient paperwork for myself, then 17 more for my husband. When I asked what would be the quickest way to get them there I was told I could deliver them. I Drove from Seminole to the office which was 15 miles. Upon arrival the office was closed. Someone returned my phone call the next morning to tell me they were open. Posting of office hours is nonexistent in the office or on the internet. Without an apology she cheerfully tells me they are open today. Why was I told I could deliver the info yesterday when the physician was not in? Where's my apology for their screw up? The treatment I received by the office staff reflects directly on the care I could expect from the doctor. Won't call again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The BIGGEST quack of a doctor. Plays games with your meds, terrible listener, and over charges. I do not understand his claims. $3500 for 10 mins with you???? Yea no thanks. FRAUD!

This psychiatrist was really good at making his own assumptions without listening to what I tried to explain. He was made accusations that didn't fit me as a person. I felt like had to "behave" for a refill, my condition was not taken seriously at all. He suggesed to quit the medication and take them away completely. I got belittled for taking the type of medication I was on. He liked blaming it on other conditions because I didn't score a straight A on my lab results. They had all gotten within range in a short time. So he just came up with new ones. Every visit he'd try to reinvent the diagnosis that already had. But diagnosed and proven by different psychiatrists. I have been here a while and he never confirmed my actual diagnosis, one time he claimed I didn't have it. I experienced him as trying to be very humble and concerned about me, but not about me as a person. It was concern about me not seeing him as the best doctor. According to this psychiatrist all my other doctors where… not doing their job. So this psychiatrist not only made me feel miserable after every visit but also extremely anxious of going in, not knowing what to walk into. He's very proud of his studies and his degrees. I can't top that, but they are pretty useless in this profession if you are not able to acknowledge what feelings actually feel like.

How do I begin? Dr. Haas lacks active listening skills and eye contact. He constantly talks over you before you can finish your sentence. He never allowed me the opportunity to talk about myself and what I was going through, he just assumes that you are just like the rest of his patients. He is a very pretentious doctor. I am professionally educated myself with multiple degrees but never do I carry a know-it-all attitude, Dr. Haas definitely does. Dr. Haas questioned my PCPs knowledge and the medications my PCP had prescribed and wanted to change everything! I was appalled! People who need help in their journeys to a better life need a compassionate doctor who LISTENS and genuinely cares. I was very disappointed with my experience.

I picked him in part because of his poor rating, I wanted to give a man who attended UofM med school a chance.... big mistake and he gives U of M a bad name.... like everyone else pointed out, he talks over you and doesn't explain his decisions or opinions. He is arrogant and narcissistic and one would be well served to PICK ANY OTHER DOCTOR
